Black And Silver Wedding
For a wedding today, chocolate cake, buttercream frosting with fondant beads, satin ribbon and gumpaste bow (my first ever). I decided that since it was only two tiers (4 and 5 inch) that I'd stack it and carry it. Never again. I stressed over every single bump in the road. By the time I made the 30 minute drive my hands were shaking to hard to add the silver beads at the base of the ribbon. I could barely get them to stay put. But I'm happy with the outcome.

This was inspired by madicakes. My first time working with fondant...this cake gave me fits. The top is styrofoam. It was the last thing I had to ice, and I ran out of icing, so I just mixed up an inedible concoction of crisco and powdered sugar. As you can see, I still need to work on my smoothing thechnique. But I'm still happy with the finished product. Yellow cake with lemon curd filling, iced in buttercream. This was for my one-year-old niece.
