I am so pleased with this cake. Finally, a cake that looks reasonably presentable. It was put up for auction at a professional function and went for the highest dessert amount at $120. All funds went to a scholarship fund I love doing gumpaste flowers and can only improve since I am at the very bottom of the realism ladder. I realize the cornelli lace is not perfect but that is what practice is for. Thanks for looking.
6in cake I made for my sweet neighbor's birthday. I like the imprint from the paper towel.
This was for my youngest 18th BD. She INSISTED on canned chocolate icing. I was actually happy with the cake except for the leaves. Didn't know yet how to make the bow on the bouquet. That came later.
Lms Only The Best
My DH is princ. of a middle school. He asked me to make some cakes for Teacher's Day. I was in Okinawa at the time in the middle of rainy season. I can't even convey how bad the humidity was affecting the icing. I asked him not to tell anyone who made the cake (I was so unhappy with it) but it got out some how.
I had high hopes for this practice cake. I was practice ganache, torting, and cornelli. What I got was oozing, bulging, icing sliding off the sides, and one part actually falling out of the side of the cake. I never had a problem with cakes before I took them up as a hobby.
