30Th Birthday Cake - French Teacher
My DH's friend wanted a birthday cake for his wife who is a French teacher. So my DH and I adorned the cake with fleur de lis, a Christian Louboutin shoe, a Louis Vuitton purse and a small Eiffel tower. The main cake is covered in buttercream, the shoe and Eiffel tower are gumpaste and the purse is an angel food pound cake covered in fondant and gumpaste.

50Th Anniversary
BC Anniversary cake (12, 9, and 6) for a party to be held at a ranch cabin. Fondant oak and maple leaves were painted with gold luster dust to match cabin decor. Gumpaste 50 was painted with pearl and white luster dust. My DH did a great job forming the numbers. We got great inspiration from several autumn leaf cakes on this website

Manolo Blahnik Shoe And Box
First request for a shoebox birthday cake for a young lady who was turning 21. She's majoring in fashion design. Shoebox iced in bc. Fondant barcode label and receipt with edible ink. I must give credit to my DH who did the writing with edible ink. He has a steady hand! I wanted to try doing a fabulous high heel like the ones I've seen on this website. So I tried my best at sculpting a shoe out of fondant. Used pearl shimmer dust to add sparkle to shoe. I'm pretty pleased with the result.

Birthday Cake For Sorority Sister
Birthday cake for a co-worker's daughter who is turning 21. She belongs to delta sigma theta sorority. Crimson and cream are their colors and elephant is one of their symbols. All icing is buttercream except for greek letters which are fondant. Lots of applause for my DH who was a tremendous help with this cake. He helped me find an elephant image to use, colored all the icing and kept his cool while trying to make crimson after three attempts! He also cut out the fondant letters. What a great guy!

I Love Lucy Cake
This birthday cake was made for a co-worker's niece who is an "I Love Lucy" fan. Used heart pan, BC icing and an image of Lucille Ball obtained from the internet. I'm not thrilled with the outcome, but there's not much I could do with the theme she requested. I dreaded doing the writing. I haven't attempted writing since we learned it in Wilton Course 1 and it shows!

1St Wedding Cake!
Three tier wedding cake (14",10", and 6"). All buttercream with scrollwork on the sides. I did NOT do the scrollwork freehand. I make a pattern on parchment paper and transferred it to the cake using piping gel. Easy, but time consuming. Everything went suprisingly smooth for this 1st wedding cake. I can't help but be proud! Thanks to my DH who took charge of stacking the cake and using dowel rods. I think he did a great job.

Lingerie Bridal Shower Cake
I was asked to do a lingerie shower cake for a co-worker and desparately needed some ideas to go with the theme. I found great inspiration on this site using the heart pan designed as a corset. I must acknowlege the version done by cakesbyallison as the inspiration piece. The hostess of the shower loved this cake and we just made variations in color and icing type. Icing is all buttercream. I never realized how tricky it was going to be to try to smooth the boobs!
