This cake was for my husbands 40th. It is a 12", 8" and ball pan. All made with mmf. He loved it!! The figurines are from Hallmark's miniture ornaments collection.
I've done this cake twice now. It is all made from MMF, including the crown, which was colored a light gray, and then I used pearl luster dust to make it shiny. It's such a girly cake...
The sillouettes on the top tier where so tricky to cut out, they were originally done at Disneyland. I had to make copies, cut them out, and then lay them on top of the fondant, and cut. It turned out to be quite the stunning cake, with such bold colors.
I did this last minute cake for my church's Mom's group. It turn out to be a really cute little cake. It is covered in MMF.
I did this cake for a little girl's 2nd birthday. I got the idea from a CC pic, and put my twist on it. This is the first time I have tried to make animals from fondant, so I was a little nervous, but it came out so cute, I was happy with the result. Thanks for the great idea. I had batter left over, so I made her some matching cupcakes. The cake and animals are MMF.
I did this cake for my friend's son. He was have a train themed birthday at a local park that gives train rides. It turned out really cute, but I was worried how the cake would hold up. It was over 100 degrees that day, and the party was outside!! The cake is covered with MMF, as well as all the decorations. Everyone really liked it, so I was happy with the way it turned out.
This is a stacked cake covered in MMF. The top tier is buttercake with pineapple and cream filling, and the bottom tier is chocolate cake with strawberry and cream filling. The yellow trim is buttercream in the rope technique. I did this for a community 4th party and it was a big hit!
I did this cake for my daughters 2nd birthday. It's covered in MMF. The fishes and shells we made using a sculpey mold. The jellyfish tenacles and coral are buttercream. My daughter loved it.
This is my first try at Fondant. I put my own twist to the cake the was suggested in the class. It turned out pretty well for my first attempt. It was yummy too. Strawberry cake with fresh strawberry and creamcheese filling.
Here is a close up. I used a toothpick with black gel on it to do the eyes and face since the figures were so small.
Our teacher let us figure pipe anything we wanted. I took the course around Easter time. This was my first try figure piping, I though it came out pretty cute. I liked doing mini cakes for classes, since it gave me more practice icing and using the different techniques.
