Father's Day 2008
This is the Father's Day cake I made for my DH. He has a Victory motorcycle that we just got back this weekend from being repaired and as he is also a firefighter, I thought the theme was a fun one to make. Iced in BC with an edible image of the Victory logo. I made the flames by using icing plugs of red, orange and yellow icing all together in one bag with a leaf tip.

Margarita Cupcakes For Cinco De Mayo
I found a margarita cake recipe that I wanted to try so I made these to bring to work for Cinco de Mayo. They are filled with whipped cream and topped with lime IMBC. I used my new rainbow disco dust on top but it is difficult to see how glittery it really was from the picture.

Mini Cupcakes
I donated about 130 mini cupcakes to a school fundraiser for a friend's son. The cupcakes are white and chocolate cake with vanilla, raspberry and chocolate BC. The raspberry BC is topped with pink sanding sugar and the vanilla BC is topped with pink iridescent disco dust that I used for the first time. It does not really show up very well in the picture but it is very sparkly - LOVE IT!

Princess Birthday Cake
This cake was for a 4 year old's princess birthday party. Her mom was going to put a tiara on top but I did not get a picture. It is a white cake with bavarian cream filling iced in BC with fondant accents. I painted the smallest stars with a mixture of antique pearl luster dust and lemon extract. I sprinkled edible glitter on top for some sparkle.

Tim And Kelly's Wedding
This was my first wedding cake. I'm so glad it is done - I was so nervous it would be crooked (this was the only cake I've ever stacked other than a golf ball cake). It is all BC with gum paste roses and silver ribbon. The cake itself is WASC with strawberry BC filling. The tiers are 6", 8", 10" and 12".

High School Graduation
This is a half sheet cake I made last weekend for a graduation. I also made 2 dozen coordinating cupcakes. I have never had more problems with a cake before and it should have been simple. My original design didn't work out, it was uneven, BC crusting too soon/not crusting enough issues...the list goes on. But I think it turned out OK in the end - the person I made it for was happy so that is what counts.

Father's Day 2007
I made this cake for dessert for Father's Day. It was chocolate fudge cake torted to 4 layers with cookies and cream filling. The icing is the chocolate syrup frosting recipe I found here on CC - made it for the first time. I used white and yellow candy melts to get light yellow to drizzle over the top.

Golf Ball Cake
I made this cake for both my husband's and dad's birthday. They both golf so this was fun to make for them. I used the end of a glass candy thermometer to make the dimples on the ball. We had to drive about 50 miles to my parents' house and I thought for sure it would fall apart before we got there but it was OK (I did dowel it).

Pink Pirouette Cake
I made this cake for my boss' 50th birthday. Pink is her favorite color. It was yellow cake with raspberry filling and lemon raspberry BC. I used pirouette cookies all around the outside, inspired by some beautiful cakes I saw on CC. The roses are Satin Ice fondant brushed with Antique Silk luster dust.
