I made this mostly for practice. I used a 6" and an 8" cake. I tried the borders that I learned in class. I'm still in class but I am enjoying the practice. Any comments gladly welcome! Tips are greatly appreciated!!
I made this in my class. I used fondant that I marbelized with blue and then added cornelli lace. I'm pleased since it was the first time with fondant.
I made this cake at 7am before work for a co-workers birthday. It is all buttercream with yellow cake and strawberry filling. I am still having trouble with my roses. I just cant seem to get the petals to stay. They always want to droop. Any suggestions? Thanks for taking a peep!
I made this cake for co-workers. This was just thrown together at the last minute. It is yellow homemade cake with strawberry filling. Icing is bc. I like the red and white colors together. Still new at this but am getting better and I am happy with this cake. Although, the basketweave could still use a bit of work.
this was the cake i made in my first class. we were learning stars and small flowers. i've gotten a little better since then. lol.
this is my first attempt at basket weave. I had to cover most of my mistakes with the bird. The flowers are getting easier the more I try but I still cannot make them good enough.
This is my third ever cake that I made and decorated from scratch. I made this cake as a congrats to my brother and his wife after finding out that 8 years of trying are finally paying off with the announcement of a little one on the way. Congrats to them. Any suggestions on bettering my techniques, most greatly appreciated.
This was my first attempt at a character cake. It was for my daughter's birthday and she was so thrilled. Unfortunately, I made a chocolate cake which made it 10x harder to see where the outline should go. Mostly, I had to guess.
