Pastel Butterfly Cupcakes
Cupcakes to match Sara's cake. My friend was worried we'd have too little cake (even though there were at least 24-30 servings in that cake or so with about 20 ppl) so I used my leftover batter to make some cupcakes. Each kid got to take one home, so that was nice actually. Leftover white chocolate butterflies dusted with super pearl dust. Butterflies made by hand. Cupcakes displayed on the small Wilton stand.

Pastel Butterflies
I did this for one of my close girlfriends' daughter who just turned 6. She wanted butterflies, so she got them! I had free rein over this cake (YAY - I love that!) so I came up with this and asked Sara what colors she wanted the cake layers. Bottom layer is a dummy. I was going to put the name on top but when I had problems wiring it, I opted for a large butterfly instead. All butterflies are white chocolate with edible marker details, stamens and super pearl dusted on. There are cupcakes too....

Cinderella
Isn't she pretty? :) For a friend's birthday (she's only 26 now lol) who absolutely LOVES Cinderella. Dipped the arms in colored white chocolate to simulate gloves - choker is a combo piped/painted on dark chocolate. I kept smudging it when I'd try to fix something on the body and then I had to paint over it. MMF with BC underneath. Did the hair with twine, superglue and scissors lol. She loved it!

Roasted Turkey
My first 3D turkey cake!!!!!! Thanks to MrsMissey for the directions and inspiration for this cake. Cake itself is a vanilla chai spice cake with vanilla chai BC (crusting....bleh I hate crusting icings LOL). Grapes are marzipan, pears are MMF, dipped in sugar. Lettuce leaves are real. I'm soooo proud of this cake! (Although in retrospect, I think it looks a tiny bit burnt! LOL)

Fairy With Butterflies
This cake was a gift for one of my best friends. It's just a single layer 6" marble cake with choc pb bc then covered in MMF and sprayed with the preval gun. Flowers are mmf. Fairy is handmade from MMF with cellophane wings I cut off an extra butterfly (I kept breaking my mmf & royal wings so I gave up!). Bees are on floral wire (stuck in coffee stirrers in cake) - wings are royal. Butterflies are cellophane - I bought those. Ladybugs are mmf. Her favorite color is purple...she totally loved it!

Our Comic Book Anniversary
DH is a HUGE comic book fan...so I surprised him with this for our first anniversary. :) Started with a base colored mmf and then sprayed with the Preval gun and wiped color away on base tier to resemble flame. White choc ganache on ice tier. The figurines on top are Iceman and Firestar (they represent us LOL)...and the tiers correspond to each. Emblems are MMF - I had Batman, but it broke. Ice cubes are rice krispies twice dipped in blue choc then dusted with lustre dust. He loved it!

Too Cheesy
Our cheese girl is transferring to another store, so I got the idea to make her some cheese with mice! I glanced at quite a few cheese wedge cakes and fell in love with Lolat's cute mice so I modeled mine in their likeness! :P Just a marble cake covered in choc BC and then MMF. Everything is edible except the board (it's a real cheese cutting board for effect lol) and the 2 toothpicks keeping the side mice attached. Grapes are made from MMF. I so love with this cake and I know she's gonna flip! :)

Blue, Green And Funky All Over
So this was originally going to be a mad hatter style cake...until my practice run split in two...thankfully, the bride was willing to go flat round with just the funky design...marble cake w/choc BC then covered in MMF. Wrapped lollipop sticks with curling ribbon (was the only ribbon I could find in the right colors since I procrastinated lol) and double stick tape, then stuck the MMF stars right on top. Decorated the table with extra MMF stars. From what I've heard, the bride & groom loved it! :)

Pirates Of The Caribbean
Cake is covered with MMF, each plank place individually (I covered with white then airbrushed brown, then rolled out brown MMF...). The wood grain was made by lightly "beating" it with my pizza wheel very randomly. To make the imprints from the rivets, I poked with the end of a paintbrush. Sails are parchment, burned around the edges on dowels (painted with royal to darken). Rails are MMF. Took inspiration from bmote1 on the planking and rails and lou on the shape! Toys are from the Pirates cake kit.

Sheep!
These are MMF - took me a half hour to complete each one. The feet are actually choc chips the I carved and then painted with Americolor's super black. Since I didn't think about the chocolate melting, well, now they "live' in my stepmother's fridge since she loves sheep. I took my inspiration from bmote1 and tried to make my sheep that way cause they were cute! bmote1's tree cake link ~ http://cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=coppermine&file=displayimage&meta=allby&uname=bmote1&cat=0&pos=21

Disaster In The Making
Well, the top tier of this cake fell apart. Completely split down the center. Granted, I didn't dowel it (mostly because I knew it totally sucked anyway lol)....but yeah. I had an order for a cake like this (different colors and another tier) so this was a practice...but didn't feel comfortable keeping the order as is. So we changed it to regular rounds. I just tossed the Care Bear on top for added decoration cause I think it's cute. :D

Corpse Bride Without The Corpses
This woman came to me wanting a very gothic style cake for her Corpse Bride party...I would have liked to put the figurines on it myself at least to take a photo, but I left them in the box as requested. They're a little hard to see, but we have a few worms here and there, black roses, bats...etc. They totally loved it. :D Oh, and the girl was turning 13.

Bouncing Baby Bears...on Cake!
So I did this cake a while back for my hubby's co-worker (who was coincidentally, his best man in our wedding) when we found out his wife had a baby girl! Nobody knew she was pregnant! (They work nights so we never see the wives lol) They totally loved it...even if I had issues and couldn't get the extra pretty bow to hold up (it fell apart so I made do and did a flat one...oh well).

Dad's Patriotic Cake
My dad's birthday is July 4, but we had a small party (like, 5 of us LOL) today - I think he was pretty floored. Everything is done in MMF, I had to run the stars straight up on the top tier because I had major problems with it cracking. I airbrushed some of the stars with a mix of lustre dust and vodka (although not sure I recommend it as it clogs a little). The large MMF stars that said Happy Birthday Dad, well, one busted on the way to the house so I skipped them - shows detail better though. :)

He Didn't Retire...he Just Transferred
I made this for one of the store managers who transferred to another store...although I work in the supermarket's bakery, I brought this cake from home especially for him as I know he LOVES my cake and FBC! Caramel cake with caramel filling (it's really caramel icing from work) and caramel flavored FBC....yummmmmmm

Rose Bouquet
I always keep a dummy of some sort in my display case at work, so I came up with this. Got the colors from taking a dark maroon and adding white in varying degrees. The base icing is marbled together. And check this out - today, one of the store managers told me it's UGLY! (She's notoriously picky.) She said the frosting looked like blood. All I could do was walk away silently. Then complain to my boss about how rude that was and I've received nothing but compliments on it! What a witch! LOL

Dad's Home Depot Hat
I made this cake for my dh and his co-workers at Home Depot. Company slogan is, "You can do it, we can help" but they say, "You can do it, we'll watch!" Everything is MMF with the exception of the pin in the bottom right corner (a real HD pin), the "sawdust" (crushed vanilla oreos) and the "wood shavings" (chocolate shavings). The gift card is accurately marked and is the same design as the one they sold for Father's Day. The tools are MMF dusted with lustre dust.

Fruit Roll-Up Sushi
I made this cake on VERY short notice at work the other day. Turns out our sushi guy is moving back home to Japan for a while, so the meat manager comes over requesting a cake. So I grabbed some Fruit Roll-Ups and marshmallows and made him some "sushi". The chopsticks are real. He LOVED it!

Tiffany Box
This cake really should be titled the LIDLESS Tiffany Box! Was playing around at work, cut a 1/4 sheet into 2 squares (had to trim a bit off) and made a box. Too bad I didn't realize until I was home with photo that I forgot the lid! Oh well. Everything is BC, the ribbon and bow were made with the large cake icer tip and smoothed with cornstarched fingers. I'm very pleased with the way it came out, although next time, I'll do it at home with MMF.
