This is all buttercream, with some fondant accents (the stars & bow)
This was my first order and first time working with a large sheet cake. Of course the customer wanted chocolate cake with stark white frosting. I had lots of crumb problems, but all in all in the end I pulled it together and got to the party in time with lots of compliments.
I made this for my new neighbors. I made it look exactly like their house style. The bricks were done with the basket weave tip (flat side) per a forum suggestion. I also used that tip for the shingles on the roof.
I made this cake for my MIL birthday, she is a HUGE Yankees/ Derek Jeter fan.
Heres the view from the bumper..its all about the little details!
I made this for my brothers birthday. He runs a Chevy dealership and I even made the Chevy emblem on the back. I used the 3D Cruiser pan. This is all buttercream
I made this cake for my sister in law in a hurry, thats why I used wooden knick knacks from Michaels instead of making the pencil, etc from frosting. I hope to try this again with more time for one of my teacher friends.
