This winter ONEderland cake was made for a little girl, celebrating a January birthday with the whimsical theme of pink, gold and silver with snowflakes. The clock was an added twist, representing the exact time of birth. Aside from the branches and the bling, everything was edible, including the clock and the links, which were all individually hand made from fondant.
This was for my son's 13th birthday, assembled using the topsy turvey cke method, where the cake is carved out so each layer is actually sitting flat on the layer below it. Covered in MM fondant
I threw this cake together for my son's girlfriend's 13th birthday party. It's an 8" square, split layer with a specialty filling, covered in buttercream frosting and mm fondant, then a 6" square split layer of the same on top.
My first attempt at fondant! I had no clue how to do corners, so they are really sad looking. A friend was having a minnie mouse theme for her daughter's 2nd birthday so she wanted a big "box" cake that looked like a present with pink and white. This is what I came up with : )
My son was born on November 1st last year, so I have been contemplating his 1st birthday theme and cake for a year! Halloween is my favorite time, so I had to go all out. This is a 4 tier cake with my signature cookies and cream filling. All buttercream frosted and then decorated with individually handmade freehand painted chocolates I did myself! I did this heart themed cake for a friend for her daughter's 1st birthday. It was in May, but she went with a hearts theme. The hearts are all made of chocolate, the ribbon is fondant and the top was a combination of handmade feather pics and chocolate suckers.
