Karate Birthday
This was for a karate-themed birthday party. The birthday girl takes karate and the top is made to resemble their "classroom". The helmet is a toy as are the people on top. The nun-chucks are fondant which I slid a coffee-stirrer straw in the middle of so they would stand. The cake is covered in fondant. She requested the colors.

Happy Birthday
This cake is not that impressive - it looked a lot better before I put the green sugar on the top!!! This cake was shipped from MA to MI to my brother for his birthday - not a good idea. The cake apparently froze on the way and the fondant made the buttercream grainy and the cake was soggy inside. He did taste it, and appreciated the thought!

First Fondant Cake
This is the first cake I ever covered in Fondant. I gave this cake to the neighbors - I realized after taking Wilton Course 3 how horrible this cake must have been. There is almost no buttercream between the cake and fondant. The flowers AND border is royal icing and it is Wilton fondant!! I have since made a "good" cake and given it to them to make up for it!

Easter Egg Nest
The cake is covered in green tinted coconut. The "eggs" are supposed to be jello that was allowed to set a little while and then poured into hollowed out portions of the cake and then hardened in the frig. I waited to long to put the jello into the cake so I had lumpy eggs. The chicks are Peeps chicks (or store brand, not sure).

Holiday Bear - Pint Sized
This Holiday Bear went along with the big one. This is the mini stand up bear pan. My friend's son cannot eat wheat, gluten or milk products so this cake was for him, and the leftover batter was used to make cupcakes. I realized after we ate the cake and looked at the photos, that I forgot to put the eyes on the bear!!!

Luau Shower Cake
The couple were going to Hawaii for their honeymoon so we threw a Luau inspired shower. This is the whole cake. The bride and bridesmaids are dressed as hula girls. The bottom cake is covered in Satin Ice chocolate fondant! The cake was triple choc fudge with PB buttercream filling. The top was a heart and was triple choc fudge with raspberry jam filling. The flowers on the border were pics purchased from oriental trading company.

Baby Stewie
This cake was for a friend's co-worker. The chef where she works is having a baby and they call him Stewie (from Family Guy). The thing on Stewie's head is supposed to be a chef hat. The decorations on the side of the cake are plastic shower favors that I bought and put on with piping gel.

Anniversary Cake
This is a first year anniversary cake I did for one of my best friends. They got married in Las Vegas and could not bring any of their cake home (we live in Massachusetts). It is an 8" cake which resembles their wedding cake. The ribbon "bow" on the top of the cake matches the one their wedding cake had.

A Cake For Every Mother
This cake was made for my mom, my friend, and her mom. Each layer is for one of the mothers. The bottom is carrot cake frosted and decorated with cream cheese frosting. The middle is triple choc fudge cake with canned bc frosting and covered with rolled bc. The top is a yellow cake with canned chocolate frosting. Don't like canned-I prefer to make my own. But it's Mothers Day so I used what the mothers like.
