This is my first attempt at figure modeling and at cake carving. I need to find a denser cake, you can see in some of the pictures that the cake got weighed down and buckeled some of the planks. It is a vanilla caramel cake with vanilla caramel buttercream and either chocolate or vanilla caramel fondant. Yeah, ended up being a little overdone with the flavoring. For a baby shower I had less than a week's notice of, but everyone loved it!
This is my first fondant loop bow. I didn't add gum tex or anything so it took FOREVER to dry. I searched my house for something to add texture and settled on cornhusks. I think it worked out well.
My first Fondant roses, colored with luster dust. Patterned after a Sugar Creations cake. White Chocolate Rasperrry cake with Raspberry filling and homemade White Chocolate Fondant. The bow is my favorite part, the texture is done with corn husks.
