Princess Ella's Tiara
Cake for a little princess! This was a last minute cake, so the tiara that I would have liked to have sit on the top of the cake, had to go around the edge of the top tier, as I had absolutely no drying time! Chocolate cake, covered with fondant, and modelling paste 'tiara'! Edible gems for 'diamonds'! TFL!

Fr Dominic
Cake made for local priest who was moving to another parish. I always have such a laugh when I'm doing figures, especially when I do the head, & add the bits that make them into the person i'm modelling - in this case his silver hair, and his specs! Aine2 influenced - of course - although a far cry from her expert level!!

Vintage Lace & Bow
Peggy Porschen design cake for a good friend. Choc cake with choc ganache & fondant. Lace made using silicone mould ... LOVE these moulds!! Will be using them on as many cakes as possible from now on!! Bride made this elaborate (and beautiful) bow, and also provided the diamonte brooch. Had to drive this cake 3 hours to venue, a twisty bumpy journey that ended with ramps & a cattle grid. My heart was in my mouth for the entire journey. Never again will I drive a cake that far - too much stress!

Deacon Tim's Ordination Missal
Cake made for a Deacon's ordination. Inspired by the many book cakes here on CC, but in particular cakedout's wonderful open bible cake. Rich fruit cake, with marzipan & fondant. I used an edible image for the right hand page, with a biblical passage special to the deacon on it. All other bits are done with modelling paste. It was a rather heavy 16"x24" cake! It served 180, and there was another 180 bits already chopped up & ready to go in the kitchen! Phew!

Our Little Birds
This was a Christening cake for my friend's two adopted children. My friend saw a picture of a similar cake on haveyourcakeandeatit.co.uk website, and felt it was perfect to represent the 'two little birds that flew into our lives'. I made it into two tiers for the servings required. Fondant covered chocolate cake & lemon cake, with royal around the sides, fondant birds & (font) birdbath, sitting on plaster pillar!

Aunty Maeve's Golden Jubilee
I made this cake for my Aunt's Golden Jubilee celebration - 50 years a nun! Decided to do the photos again, as it's such a great idea for remembering special times over a long period. All fondant with edible images. Frame is mexican paste, with edible image. Terrible photo of cake, but I forgot to take a good one before the knife was stuck in!!

Gone With The Wind!
Cake made for a work collegue of my husband, who was leaving to begin a new job elsewhere. She's a bit of a 'film buff', so I decided on this design! Modelling paste used for film reel bits, & edible images for the frames. Got inspiration from that amazing cake on the 'Let them eat cakes website!

Ordination Cake
This cake weighed in excess of 20kilos!! Nearly killed me doing the fondant .. kept breaking/cracking as it was so big! Fed 200+ with an extra 200 servings in kitchen. Rich fruit cake with marzipan & fondant. 'Missal' was fruit cake too. All other decorations were either modelling/flower paste. Major thanks to beachcakes who gave me both inspiration for the cake from her wonderful confirmation cake, & advice too! Also thanks to Lynda-bob & kerri729 for support in the forum! Glad this one is finished!

Arum Wedding Cake Topper
A slightly better picture of the topper for my friends wedding cake. Flower paste flowers. I felt it needed something green, but I hadn't any bear grass. Alan Dunn's book (from library!) showed me how a couple of wires covered with tape & rolled flat with a pin works great!!

Madeline's Christening Cake
Christening cake for a friend's daughter. Inspiration for this cake came from Adven68's wonderful cake (one of her many!) Many thanks! Booties made from Aine2's CMC recipe ... first time I tried it and found it to be wonderful to work with!! All other decorations done in flower paste.

Mary's 60Th Birthday Orchids
I made this for a friend's sister's 60th birthday. Some 'hybrid' orchids for the top & a little poem, as she loves poetry! Hope there were no orchid aficionados at the party ... as there are no flowers on earth like these!! Flowers are flower paste, & poem is edible image on modelling paste. Sorry about photo, never got a good picture of the whole cake!

Nemo Cake For Eliza
A 'Nemo' themed cake for a little girl who turned 4. There was a bit of artistic license involved here as she also wanted a mermaid ... so I threw in a few extra sea creatures too! Choc cake with fondant. Modelling paste creatures. The cake was based on the wonderful Debbie Brown's 'mermaid cake', and I had a big dose of inspiration for the sign, from stlalohagal's nemo cake here on CC! Many thanks!!

Paul's Dream
This is a cake for a friend's husband who turned 40. I have wanted to attempt a cake like franjmc's beautiful photo cake for ages, and finally got my reason to do one! Not in franjmc's league, but not too bad either - I hope! Had to model an Aston Martin DB9 for the top .... AHEM! (was just glad that it looked like A CAR in the end!) All fondant with Mexican paste car & A.M. logo; edible images; 4 & 0 sparklers for the top! Thanks to franjmc for the inspiration!

When Santa Got Stuck Up The Chimney ...
Another cake for the pre-school Christmas Fayre. Thought I'd do one for the little 'uns! Apologies for the dreadful picture ... and please pretend not to notice the mess on the windowsil behind! Cake is traditional fruit cake covered with marzipan & fondant. This was straight out of an old cake book borrowed from a neighbour - I think it was by a Polly Pinder(?) - it had lovely cakes for children!
