Mickey Mouse Car Cake
This was done for my 4 year old's birthday. He loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Mickey's car is actually red, but my red fondant wasn't working out too well so I took the artistic license to make it yellow! All MMF, except the little Mickey Mouse. FYI - In case you're wondering what the heck it is - he's supposed to be pulling a trailer full of birthday presents, but you can't really see them in the picture.

My Little Pilot
For my 6 yr old who wants to be a pilot. I had so little time to do this and all I can see are all the flaws, but he loved the overall effect of the uniform and plane, so thatâs what was most important to me! A BIG thank you to bmote1 for the plane design-hers is a zillion times better but Iâm grateful for the inspiration! The little brown spots are chocolate BC-I learned the hard way it doesn't rub in to fondant like regular BC.

Belly Cake
Iâve been DYING to do a belly cake, ever since seeing them on CC! I got inspiration from so many, but the one I loved the most was by _ChristyB_, so I have to give her a shout out to thank her for her awesomeness! Since I had very limited time to work on this cake (2 jobs and 2 kids), I wasnât able to sit down and come up with my own design so I based it all on hers. Even the colors matched the ones for my friendâs baby shower. I used a sport ball pan for the belly and mini wonder molds for the boobs, but I had to sculpt them a bit for a more natural shape, since pregnant bellies do not look like a perfect ball, and the mini wonder molds looked more like Madonnaâs cone shaped corset from the 80âs! Ha ha. Also, it seems everyone was thanking ellyrae for her inspiration with belly cakes, so maybe she pioneered this whole design, so a big thank you to her, too! The Mom 2B had another baby shower the next day and even showed a picture of it to everyone there! Also, I had the boobs and belly on a separate board so she could take it home. This was a big hit. Everything was done using MMF.

Golden Anniversary
This was for my best friend's parents' 50th anniversary cake. Covered in MMF. The tassels were made with a garlic press, and they and the rope were covered in gold luster dust - a mixture of Old Gold and Wilton's new gold luster dust (Old Gold was too dark and the Wilton was too light). Thanks to sweetpea8 for the idea of the "curvy" number 50!

Simple Yet Pretty
This was done with marshmallow fondant (thanks to jeking for her Alternative MMF Recipe here on CC it worked wonderfully well!) and royal icing roses. This was the first time Ive ever transported a cake fully assembled, because I knew it would take too long to do it at the reception. Thankfully it made it there in one piece! You cant really tell in the picture, but the roses each had silver lust dust and I dusted the entire cake with SuperPearl to give it a subtle gleam, because I thought the white fondant looked too flat on its own. I thought it gave a really pretty effect, but obviously it doesnt show up in the photo.

Lightning Mcqueen
This was for my son's 5th birthday. My time was so limited when doing this, that I had to leave out some of the details. He immediately noticed that there wasn't a rear spoiler, but he still thought the cake was cool! I used a race car pan from sportscakes.com (no longer in business) which was kind of flat, so I made another sheet cake and cut out pieces from there to "build up" the original race car cake to make it shaped more like Lightning McQueen. It's all covered in MMF.

Dress Cake
This was for a girl who loves Gerber daisies, and she's also half Egyptian. She wears a necklace with her name in Arabic, which is on the top. The idea was to look like a floral dress, but I wasn't happy with the way the "pleats" came out. I think my MMF was too soft for the effect I was looking for. Also, by the time I took this picture after getting to work - the top layer had started to slide off! I shoved it back on, but it made the pleats look worse. Oh well. She still loved it!

Dallas Cowboys And Mickey Mouse
This was a going away cake for someone in our office. Her two favorite things are the Dallas Cowboys and Mickey Mouse, so this is what I came up with. It was fun to do! It's all MMF. The helmet is 2 six inch rounds with half a sports ball pan on top, and I carved the bottom to shape like a helmet, and Mickey is half a sports ball pan with ears made out of foam core and covered in MMF. The mask on the football is fondant-it's not very realistic but I was sooooo limited on time. It was a big hit!

Carrot Anniversay Cake
This was a carrot cake, but since it was for a 15 year anniversary, the hubby wanted something a little more special than just the normal icing carrots on top, , and his wife loves blue. I put cornelli lace on the top of the cake to cover up how un-smooth it was cuz I find cream cheese icing so hard to smooth and work with! In fact, the flowers are buttercream - I would never even think of attempting a rose with cream cheese icing!

Cinderella
I got the idea for this cake from sue_dye on Cake Central, and she was nice enough to let me "copy" her design because I loved it so much! I didn't have time for all the details she had, and she had these gorgeous ribbons in the front, held up by the birds, but I couldn't get the birds to attach to the skirt. Oh well. Everyone literally GASPED when they saw the cake, and the little girl started dancing and said "That's my Cinderella cake!" It made me feel so wonderful that I helped make her day special!

Leather Jacket Cake
This was a "thank you" cake for my aunt and uncle for helping us out in so many ways. They both love riding motorcycles, so I thought they would enjoy this! On the back of the jacket, I made the Harley Davidson "shield" with wings and instead of writing Harley Davidson in it, I wrote "Debbie and Doug Forever" It looked SOOO cool, but the pictures of it came out really fuzzy. I'm so bummed. Made with chocolate MMF and mocha buttercream underneath.

Star Wars
I made this for a 6 year old who loves Star Wars. He was supposed to have a Darth Vadar action figure for the top, which is why the bottom is black with the flames - but it turns out he had broken it and no longer had it. So we just have the one on top and I'm not even sure who it is, but he loved it all the same. I also made a light saber (not a "historically" accurate one, I'm afraid, but he knew what it was!)

Airplane
This is a total rip off from Boween! I work for an airline and had a friend transferring to another city (named Jason, which is why I named the airplane after him!). I wasn't sure what to do for a cake and I found Boween's cake in the Retirement section and loved it! She was nice enough to give some tips and ideas about how she did it. I certainly can't take credit for the design - I just tried to recreate it the best I could. It was a HUGE hit!

Strawberries 'n Cream Cake
This was for my sister's birthday. It's got strawberries on top, decorated with cool whip, and I mixed some strawberry glaze with cool Whip for the filling. Anyone that tells you that it's easy to decorate with Cool Whip is lying! It was so hard to get the basketweave to look halfway decent. But when I make real whipped cream - it comes out an off white and I wanted a pure white, so I used Cool Whip.

Race Car Cake
Sport Cakes.com sells pans and edible images that look just like an actual race car driver's car - endorsements and everything! Just a warning though- it took a lot longer than I thought - the decals come with white borders and you have to cut them all off. I used an Xacto knife and it still took forever and wasn't perfect. It took like an hour to get it all done. But the results are worth it - it looks so real! I cut the bottom cake into an oval race track type cake. It was covered in MMF.

Ladies Fan Wedding Cake
The bride's theme was fans, and I thought that was so romantic and had so much fun with it! The fan on top was made from gumpaste, and I got the cutter from Scott Clark Wooley in NYC (who is so wonderful, by the way!). The cake is covered in MMF. It has rope garlands and the fans are made out of chocolate.

Train Cake
I did this for my son from a Wilton book. It looked so much easier in the book but it took me forever! And it didn't turn out the way I hoped, because I tried to modify it slightly to look more like Thomas the Train, since that was the theme of his party, but it didn't work out quite like I wantd. But when my 4 year old son saw he gasped and went "Oh my gosh!" So that made it all worth it for me!

Prince Cake
I did this for a one year old's "prince" party. I originally did the crown out of fondant but it fell apart at 2:30 am the day of the party - so this one is made out of cardboard and I attached fake jewels. Next time - I'll know to use gumpaste instead of straight fondant to make sure it dries! But the pillow was a hit - when I started cutting it - everyone was shocked cuz they all thought - even the little kids - that it was a real pillow!
