Bird's Nest Cupcakes
These are cupcakes that I threw together for my husband's office. They are supposed to be bird's nests. I tried using a grass-tip at first and didn't like the way that looked. So, then I used a star tip and built up a nest in a spiral formation. I used Peeps for the birds and Jelly Bellies for the eggs. I also used giant malted-milk ball eggs. For the Easter grass it is edible grass that you can buy from Orientaltrading.com and it comes in yellow, green, and pink. It doesn't taste good, but it's cool

The Easter Bunny
This is a cake I made using a 3D mold. I covered it w/buttercream (should have used non-crusting) and then put superfine organic unsweetened coconut on top of that. I had the problem of the bunny's head trying to fall off. I secured it w/dowels. Any ideas on how to keep it's head from falling off next time?

I Give You My Heart
Okay, this is just something that I was messing around with. I cut a heart out of some cake and put it on top of this heart cake. It is all buttercream, then I used a rubber stamp to imprint the swirls. I also used Wilton sparkles on top. Easy and fun, but I don't think it came out so great.

A Fresh Basket Of Strawberries And Blueberries
I got the idea for this Mother's Day cake off of this site. Super simple to do. The bow is real. I used Pepperidge Farm Pirouette cookies for the side. It is an angel food cake. I also found out that you should NOT ice an angel food cake with anything other than whipped topping type icing. LOL.

Ou Football Field
This was a request for a little girl's 2nd birthday. That tells ya how crazy people are for OU in Oklahoma! All is BC, except the football is plastic and the trophy and balloons are candles. I did the side border by striping the bag red with white icing and used an extra large ribbed icing tip.

Willy Wonka's Magical Mushroom
I made this cake for my friend's birthday, who is obsessed with mushrooms. The mushroom is covered in marblized fondant and then brushed with lusterdust. I made the butterfly out of fondant also. The grass is BC and has powdersugar dusted strawberries. I also carved out one of the spots and filled it with whipped cream, so she could eat it out like the Willy Wonka mushroom scene. She loved it!

Monkey And Elephant's River Of Love
This cake was requested for an anniversary. They wanted an edible monkey and elephant in a jungle type scene. So, everything is BC, except the sign is white chocolate and the tree is a Pepperidge Farm Pirouette cookie with fondant leaves. The water is piping gel and the rocks are candy rocks.

3 Floating Bridal Shower Cakes
This was my very first commission AND my very first time to work with fondant!! For the middle cake I ran into a problem trying to get the fondant to go on smoothly down the sides. I ended up gathering it in the front, hence the flowers to cover my mistake. Someone tell me how to do the fondant right, please! I painted the leaves and pansies with super luster dust. The flowers are royal icing, the leaves buttercream. The top cake was supposed to be quilted. The lines were really faint, though. Help!
