Took 4 days to complete! Mud cake covered with fondant and GP . Modeled on HMAS Adelaide.
Brides Mum designed cake as a surprise for 2nd reception in Australia. GP Waratah spray purchased. 'Welsh spray' is gumpaste blossoms on fresh greenery - had no idea how to do spiky stuff. First ever GP figures. Not happy with the silver trim -too heavy. All fondant.
All fondant, record insert is edible image. For 2 musicians.
Another 'old' photo. First time spray painting (Wilton can). Top made in small pudding mold. All fondant except topper, wooden stars and beads. Rushed job. Inspiration from Lindy Smith.
My second TT. All fondant with gp stars, lots of glitter. Purchased disco balls. My first time at layering stripes -soooo time consuming. Haven't done them that way again!
My first topsy turvy. I was horrified the next morning to see half of the balls from the bottom tier had disappeared - (only the balls! ) the culprit was a possum that gained entry via the heating duct!!!! All fondant and gum paste.
All fondant , had trouble covering the handbag, first time doing this shape, an extra thin layer of fondant tidied it up, It was to go in the freezer for first anniversary!
Each tier different flavour. All fondant with fresh flowers.
Finally can upload! This is the cake that stated it all 2 years ago (we talked her out of lamingtons and meringues!) 6 inch mud cake with fresh flowers, 2" lemon rounds. All fondant and fabric ribbon.
All fondant with gum paste accents. Chocolate mud, caramel mud and orange and poppy seed.
