Maxine Over The Hill Birthday Cake Fbct 9X13
First FBCT, and a HUGE learning experience. Lessons: Don't pick a graphic with 8 colors; use a larger tip than #1 - it's too thin & fragile; use a denser BC, fluffy doesn't work well. As a hobbyist baker, I was overall pleased, but my expectations weren't that high. :) Did this for fun for a friend's 50th. Choc fudge cake, raspberry filling, crusting BC on cake, FBCT-BC for Maxine, MMF accents.

National Mole Day
Yes, National Mole Day, October 23 annually. What, you didn't know?? :) Scientific community recognizes it, meaning high school chemistry teachers love it. Mole is a scientific equation, but they use animal moles for fun. 9" choc, 1/2 ball white, "Choc Syrup Frosting" and "BC Dream" with MMF. Also did 30 cupcakes to match. Mr. Mole is supposed to look like he dug up from under leaves. He's pretty crudely modelled, but I had 1 day to get all of this done, so he is what he is... :)

Cinco De Mayo
Cake for fun to put in the teacher's lounge for Cinco de Mayo. 8" top layer, choc. w/raspberry; 12" bottom, vanilla w/strawberry. BC icing, MMF peppers and small accents. Clock on stove says 1:56 -- that's AM. Can we say "obsessive"? :) Much inspiration from several cakes on CC, especially tripletmom!!!

Tennis Team Cake
White cake/white BC icing sheetcake from Costco (cake is 3/4" higher on one side than the other, NOT MY FAULT! lol), sportball choc. cake for tennis ball iced in BC, textured with empty tip 233. Stars are MMF. CMS is freehand copy of team t-shirt logo, tip 5, and patted flat. School colors are navy, royal blue, and white. Used "tennis yellow" to accent.

Character Cake Option For 1St Cake, Wilton Level I Class
Lots of things I see "wrong" with this -- especially the rope border has spaces in places it shouldn't, and I wrinkled things a bit when I transferred the already-decorated cake from the baking sheet to the cardboard circle. (Most important lesson learned -- make sure DH has cardboard ready BEFORE decorating cake!!!) Not thrilled with the Wilton class, but that's another tale to tell. :)
