Am And Guy's Wedding Cake
My sister-in-law and her new hubby sent me a photo of this cake and asked for me to make it for their recent wedding. I'm not a professional but thought that I could give it a try. The cake was chocolate on the bottom, lemon in the middle and the top tier was a combination lemon (for her) and chocolate (for him) with the appropriate icings and dividers so that the two flavours didn't mix. The whole thing is covered in Satin Ice, and decorated with marshmallow fondant flowers dusted with pearl dust and attached to the cake with royal icing. Thanks for looking.

Tea Party Shower Cake
A learning experience on all fronts. It was a labour of love and I got to try some new techniques and learned a whole lot. I just love the new Wilton Impression mats and used them to make some of the leaves, flowers and strings of pearls. I used my daughter's Fisher-Price tea set as molds to make the cups and saucers. Everyone at the shower was really impressed which made my day. Unfortunately the party had about 50 people at it, and once the room heated up the cake started to droop. Oh well, you live and learn. LOL

Katie's Tangled Cake
Thanks for looking. My daughter wanted a Tangled/Rapunzel cake for her 7th birthday. This is what I came up with. She loved it and that made the 5+ hours of work oh so worth it. Everything is edible except for the tower structure (paper towel roll, and a metal paper towel holder) and the Disney figures. The bridge is painted gumpaste. I took the easy road out by purchasing some candy rocks and flowers from the local bulk store. My daughter also loves candy - so it's a win win situation.

Hubby's Birthday Cake
My hubby really isn't into sweet things especially icing. But this year I thought I'd get my girls to help me make his cake. I made 3 - 8" single rounds and gave them each a 6" circle of Satin Ice, and the edible makers. They were to draw a picture of stuff they like to do with Dad. So my 10 year old did her and Dad riding bikes and roller blading (with the cat looking on), and my 6 year old did her Dad and her baking gingerbread men and Dad tripping over Harvard the dog (her Aunt's dog) and me yelling "Dad"! LOL. It turned out great and my hubby loved it. The girls were oh so proud. Thanks for looking.

50Th Birthday Poodle Cake
I was asked to make a 50th birthday cake for a friend of a friend. The only guidelines were that it had to serve 40 people and be chocolate. So this is a chocolate cake, with ganache filling, crumb coated in ganache and then covered in chocolate marshmallow fondant. The flowers, leaves and poodle are Satin Ice and the lettering is in white chocolate. They loved it. Thanks for looking.

Sara & Garrett's Wedding Cake
This cake was for some family friends, a very cute couple who were willing to work within my skill level. So it's a vanilla cake with buttercream filling, covered in white chocolate ganache, and then covered in Satin Ice Fondant. Two of the layers I imprinted a pattern on them and the other two were plain with a ribbon running around them. This was all new to me and although there is room for improvement, the couple loved it (1st because it was made by me and 2nd because I was able to make it look "somewhat" like the cake they wanted). Thanks for looking. Diane

Halloween Fishing Birthday
I'm oh so proud of this cake. I decided to try my hand at making chocolate ganache which I used to fill and cover the cake. Then after a quick chill and set I covered it with marshmallow fondant (homemade) and this is the most exciting part, I got it laid on without a rip or tear or fold. Love trying new things. Thanks for looking.

Fair Food
This is my entry for our local fall fair cake contest. The theme is "Old Fashioned Fun", so I decided to do the food at the fair - corn on the cob, popcorn, pretzels, ice cream cones, onion rings, french fries and candy apples (which didn't turn out great but it's just one component of the whole cake). Everything is edible except the corn on the cob holders and the candy apple stick. Thanks for looking.

Peace
Peace was the theme for this cake. My daughter told me exactly what she wanted and she was extremely pleased, although I had trouble with the icing. Uggh!! The peace signs are gumpaste and cut using my Cricut. The rest of the decorations are fondant. Oh and I used the SPS system. Thanks for looking.

Easter Basket
I know that I got the inspiration for this cake from great cakers here on CC's - thanks for the inspiration. It's a chocolate cake with chocolate icing, chocolate modeling chocolate handle, real ribbon and eggs from the store. It went over really well with the inlaws as it was actually a birthday cake. Thanks for looking

Baptism Cake
Special order cake for a special little man on his baptism day. The cake is 10" chocolate and white cake covered in buttercream. The cross and flowers are gumpaste and the ribbon is Sugarveil. My very first time using it and it was trial and error but I found it fun to work with and I was very happy with my first ribbon. Thanks for looking

Pizza Anyone??
This is a cake for our nephew who had been watching Cake Boss and wanted one just like Buddy's. Well, I couldn't find a picture of the Buddy's pizza cake, so I hope he's happy with this one. The cake is iced in buttercream and all the "pizza fixings" are MMF. Thanks for looking. Diane
