Black, White And Red Wedding
This was my very first time doing a wedding cake on my own, and also my first time doing a 4 tier cake. 12", 10", 8", and topper was carved into a rectangle out of a 9"x13" but I forgot the dimensions. Not as perfect as I would have liked, but I like how it turned out, although I would do some things different next time. I made this cake for my best friend, and she and her new hubby loved it. MMF with buttercream and mmf accents, but unfortunately I had to use artificial flowers because my gumpaste for my roses turned brown for some reason, and I didn't have enough time to make more and make the roses. They still liked, and I do too. Oh, I also used straws from McDonalds as the support because I didn't have any other option, and they held up just fine. Thanks for looking!!!

Jungle Baby Shower
I made this cake for a girl baby shower. The mom-to-be wanted to do something that had nothing to do with pink, and she also wanted green and jungle animals. This is what I came up with. I got a lot of inspiration from someone's photo on flickr, and I can't remember the person's name or I would give credit. The cake and decorations are all mff. The bottom tier is chocolate mocha and the top tier is french vanilla and the fondant flavor is french vanilla as well. I think it looks a little plan, but I like it. Oh yeah, my wonderful hubby made the panda head!!! Thanks for looking!!!

Sports Themed Baby Shower
This cake was for a sports themed baby shower. Had nothing to go on except the colors blue and red, and since I have had bad experiences with using dark colored icing and it tasting terrible, I decided to go with the basket weave and the fondant stuff. This was my second attempt at basket weaving, and I must say it is an improvement from the first basket weave I did. I wish I could have come up with something cuter for this cake (creative juices just weren't flowing this time), but you live and learn and I'm just glad it didn't fall apart or anything, LOL!!!

"supposed To Be" Flower Basket
Yes, this is my supposed to be flower basket. This was actually my first time doing a basket weave, and I did the entire cake, flowers (well supposed to be flowers) and all in about 30 minutes. I am not going to say what the cake started out as, because I am so disappointed that it had to be turned into a basket. My buttercream was waaaaaayyyyyyyy too soft, and that didn't at all make for good flowers, but the person it was for seemed to like it, so that's what matters more sometimes. Thanks for looking!!!

Pink & Brown Baby Shower
Made this cake for another baby girl shower. As you can see, I still need to learn how to be more steady with my hands when I'm attaching things to buttercream, because I have so many dents in this cake. Not my favorite cake, but not too bad I guess. I am truly getting better at this. Thanks for looking!!!

Basketball Jersey
Made this cake for a little girl who loves basketball and blue. Not very thrilled about the jersey, but I love the way the basketball came out, considering it was my first attempt at a fully round ball. The "thing" that the ball is sitting on is actually cake as well. It started out as a basketball hoop, but I ended up carving too much cake away from it, and when I covered it with the fondant, it kinda collapsed, so this is what I came up with as an alternative. Still thrilled about the ball though, LOL!!! Thanks for looking.

Pink And White Daisies And Booties
Made this cake for a baby shower. Wanted to try to improve on my first fondant cake with the pink daisies, and I really like how it came out. I was very proud of myself for this since most of my cakes look like crap, LOL!!! This was also my third time fully covering a cake in fondant, so I was very happy with the end result. I am improving, slowly, but surely. Thanks for looking!!! Oh, and I know that the hearts don't really match the rest of the cake, but my fondant got torn, so I had to improvise real quick!!!

First Doll Cake
I made this cake using my KA bowl. I didn't have a wondermold, so I decided to improvise. It sank in the middle, but I think it was because the recipe I used was so dense and heavy. On the way to deliver it, I hit a bump in the road and it got a huge crack up the back, but the mom didn't mind because she said they would eat it anyway. Pretty good for a first time especially since it was made with the KA bowl. All butter cream. Thanks for looking.

13Th Anniversary
Made this cake for a friend and her husband. Sorry about the yellow tint, my kitchen lighting isn't the greatest. The cake is actually just a slight off white in color. First time fondant roses with luster dust. The purple thing (LOL) is also fondant, and I used gold luster dust and a stencil for the design on it. The plaque that is falling apart is gumpaste as are the butterflies. The words I actually did using the FBCT technique because my handwriting isn't all that great. Thanks for looking.

25Th Anniversary
Made this cake for a couples 25th anniversary. I wanted to cover it in fondant, but I can never seem to make a decent batch of fondant, so I had to go with butter cream. Made the roses out of gumpaste, and the ribbon is just ribbon from the craft store. First time using the diamond impression also. Thanks for looking.

Ben 10
I made this cake for my son's 4th birthday. He loves Ben 10. I wanted to go more elaborate with it, but we decided not to have him a party this year since all of his friends had moved away. I just made him this cake, which was still too big (12 x 18) and let him go to the toy store and go crazy. Thanks for looking!!!

Friendship Heart
I made this for a lady who wanted a special cake for her "Best Friend", just because! I thought that was nice, so I did the best I could. This was my first time trying brush embroidery, and I will never try it again with cream cheese icing. There were also dragon flies along the left side. Homemade carrot cake with cream cheese icing. Many thanks to "toodlesjupiter" for her inspiring friendship quotes. Thanks for looking.

Just Horrible!!!!
This was the first cake that I really planned and tried really hard to hard to get right because it was my first paid cake. This cake started as a $50 cake, and ended up 50% off. As you can clearly see, it settled more than I thought it would, and lets just say that for some reason, I just can't get my buttercream right these days. The person who ordered said it was cute and everyone at the shower said it tasted good. She actually wanted to order another cake, which made me feel a little better, but this cake was a complete disaster to bake and decorate. As you can see, I was not even going to take a pic of this cake because I didn't even both to clean off the counter to get a good pic like I would normally do. Thanks for looking!!!
