Jack-In-The-Box Cake
One of my kids favorite fast food place is Jack In The Box, and gotta admit, love the jack balls myself. Oldest wanted a jack ball cake - would love to try this in a half-ball shape next time, but just had carpal tunnel release surgery and had to do it the easiest way possible. Nose was made (before I discovered gum-paste or fondant) from frosting rolled in unflavored gelatin, very easy to work with and dries in a few hours, nose "painted" with Wilton coloring.

Step-Daughter's 13Th Birthday Cake
My step-daughter loves frogs and this was a fun one to do. The multi-colored border was created by using all the colors from in the flower and making 2-3 shells the switching bags (using the same tip from previous bag) and gave it a blend from one color to the next.

Oozing Spiders
Got the idea from a cake book about a filled cake, baked the bodies in a glass pyrex bowl (didn't have a ball or domed shape pan), cut the cake in half, scooped out the middle and filled with red jello in one, green in the head, so when the cake was cut the spiders "bled". The kids loved it, Halloween is fun to do "gross-out" cakes for kids! The black frosting was flavored with cocoa over chocolate cake, and surprisingly cherry jello goes really well with cake!
