Lady bug cake for little girl.
Cake for my niece's birthday. Wanted a princess look without the princess characters. Got this idea out of one of the Wilton year books.
Cake for a baptism. The cross piece is stained glass sugar, a technique I learned at ICES last year and I have wanted to try it.
This is a cupcake cake for a teacher friend of mine that has a first grade class. She requested something simple. When I taught school I loved cupcake cakes because I didn't have to stand around cutting pieces of cake for 30 kids!
This is the first boy baby shower cake I have had to make in quite a while. Everyone here is haveing girls. I went all out with a white cake and vanilla pudding filling, buttercream icing and fondant decorations. I had boats, planes, bikes and trains on it.
This mom wanted something a little different, and because she is a close friend I decided to try out a topsy turvey on her. She didn't mind. Cake is red velvet, icing is crusting cream cheese (from this site) and details are fondant.
The "mother to be" that this shower was for had decorated the nursery in lambs. All of her friends wanted a cake to represent the theme that she had selected. It was great because most of the gifts she got had a little lamb theme too.
Cake was for a friend. Her son LOVES Dora and her family LOVES TCU. So I made Dora a sporty girl after I pattern transfered her onto cake. Backpack and map are a separte cake shaped from an 8" round. All buttercream with some airbrush on big cake so Dora looks like she is outside.
