This is a 40th Birthday cake for my Brother-in-Law who is an avid Dungeons and Dragons player. My wife did a loose sketch of him as an undead creature known as a Lich. The book cake is covered in Satin Ice fondant, and the Beholder (Eye Ball Creature) is covered in marshmallow fondant. (It was an experiment. I liked it) The dragon is done with Butter-creme and a 16 star tip. The Dragon design is from Family Fun web site, and I used the Wilton 2 mix book pan, and mini-ball pan. This was a fun project.
This is 2 white 9x13 cakes stacked pushed against 2 Devil's Food 9x13 Cakes. Covered in wood-grain Fondant (With about 35% gum paste thrown in because I was running low) Wine bottles are Chocolate with gum-paste labels. I tried to make Fondant panels, but apparently I need to purchase the Boxes and Bows DVD because it was a disaster. Made for my boss, who is retiring to open a a make your own wine store.
