These cakes are made for our cake presentation, base is made of carrot/pineapple cake the same with satellite cakes, 18 cupcakes are muffin cakes, 18 roses and flowers on top of cakes are also made of gumpaste. It took 2 weeks preparations, I think its not bad for an amatuer .. we learned only fondant a month ago.
I prepared this for my 2 year old nephew..all are edible except for the canldles & balloons..made of butter and chocolate cakes with boiled icing, cargoes are M&M & marshmallows (as rocks) and pretzels (for the logs), wheels are all Oreos..railroad tracks are scrapped cakes.. grass are colored dessicated coconuts... i heared lots of wows from the kids.
Butter cake finished with fondant, flowers are made of gumpaste just done the night before, others leaves are madee of royal icing.
