At my Wilton Course 3 class 2, we used fondant for the first time. I like using the stuff because it makes your cakes look flawless.
This was my first attemt at a FBCT and thanks to all the tips and tricks I read about on this site, everything worked out. I made this cake for my niece who just turned 7 and is having a Bratz girl themed party.
I enjoyed learning the basketweave technique. Inspried from cakes on this site, I created a handle for my basket out of royal icing.
Had this cake in the freezer and thought I would treat my co-workers. :)

This was my first attempt at a stacked cake. The sizes are 10" and 8" rounds with a 6" heart on top.
This is the final cake from course 1. Apologies for the lighting but class ends at night and the cake is going to work tomorrow (before the sun comes up) so lighting isn't the greatest. Can't wait for course 2 to start next week!!
