Ball Cap Cupcake
The topper for the blackjack birthday cupcakes. This silly little hat took me FOREVER to make. Eventually, I just ended up using a ball of fondant for the hat part, and a circle for the brim, and setting the hat part on top of the circle and shmushing (totally technical terminology) it together.

Sage, Chocolate And Ivory Cupcakes
This was such an elegant, modern, pretty colour scheme. The cupcakes are all tied with little bows and topped with gumpaste flowers. DO NOT EVER agree to doing this or worse, suggest it like I did. Cupcakes are not solid, they're squishy and taper. Bows are slippery and tend to not stay on squishy, tapered things. Bad idea. Bad, bad idea! :)

Pealry Blue And Purple Cake
Another seriously time consuming cake, and we really underestimated that with this one. The flwoers took forever (all gumpaste with piped centers hand-painted with super pearl) as did painting all of the blue piping. But I'm thrilled with the result - another modern take on a fairly classic cake.

Royal And Fuschia Puzzle Cake
Wow, was this cake a pile of work! 8 individual tiers, but only 4 are real - the three tier cake in the middle and the little 6" sitting on it. The base tiers are all dummies. My advice should anyone try one of these cakes - really, really think about it as you are doing it. We kept covering something in fondant and then remembering that that was one that needed to be carved. Figuring out what order to decorate and assemble it all in was tricky.

Pink Gift Box Cake
This bride was crazy about pink. I mean, I imagine that every wedding gift they got was part of KitchenAid's breast cancer awareness line! The bottom tier is a dummy and the rest are covered in MMF with gumpaste decorations dusted with pearl lustre dust. The bride loved it, even if I didn't!

Mini Bouquet Wedding Cake
This was for a smaller wedding. Two simple, white MMF covered tiers with fuchsia ribbon and a floral topper. However, when I got the topper from the florist, it had a huge, poofy white satin bow on it. I couldn't bring myself to add that to the cake. It may have eaten the cake! So I took that off and replaced it with matching fuchsia ribbon, wrapped like a bouquet and with the ends trailing down the back of the cake. It ended up being really cute!
