!st birthday cake for a little girl whose favourite stuffie is a frog. I made it two layers. Had a terrible time trying to get the two layers to fit together nicely but the cake didn't turn out too bad. Cake was chocolate with standard buttercream icing.
My son is obsessed with the Teen Titans. I had to try to freehand Robin (with Hubby's help!). Due to a chicken pox possibility, our party was a last minute affair and so was his cake! However, he loved it! The cake is homemade strawberry with a whipped cream filling. Standard buttercream icing.
My first baptism cake. White cake, lemon mousse filing. I wanted simple and I found a very nice cross on this webiste in the First Communion pictures which i attempted to recreate. My freehand on cakes is not good; I hope to get better! The remainder of the cake is Cornelli Lace and beadwork; my first time attempting both techniques.

This cake was for a Princess Tea Party theme 5th birthday. I used a ball pan for the main teapot; a mini half ball for the lid and sugar cookie cutouts for the handle, spout and base. Icing is buttercream using mostly star tip. The idea came from this website (Thank you!). I also did 4 'cups' of tea to go with the pot and used chocolate ganache to make the tea in the cups. It was a huge hit.
My neice's birthday cake. Wilton pan. Round was my final for an intro decorating course I took. Just tried to practice what I had learned all in one cake! Both are buttercream, although two different kinds.
A mother called and asked if I could make a robin's nest. Her daughter was unable to play in her treehouse because a robin had built a nest so that was going to be the theme for her birthday. This was my rendition. I took a half ball pan; hollowed a bit out and then made 'sticks' and branches out of chocolate buttercream. Eggs are MMF. Cake is Chocolate with buttercream mousse for filling. Nest is chocolate.
My first sheet cake. The sheet is a scratch vanilla cake with lemon mousse filling. The bouquet is chocolate. Icing is a very rich whipped buttercream. I used pearl dust in all the roses. I think I had 50 plus roses. Idea from Wilton.
