Fondant baby and blanket
Helmet iced in ivory buttercream then airbrushed in gold. Helmet stripe and logo were freehanded with buttercream. This was a last minute request so I didn't have time to make the face mask as it should have been made so I use MMF instead the place entire cake on fondant covered board. It all looked nice....until I delivered it...the front part of the helment fell apart :-( .....so what do you do...you live...you love... you cry...then you bake again!
A friend requested a cake to be made like one of the games being played at the shower. So I did just that...eight inch square cake iced in buttercream. There are molded sugar decerations of a baby bottle, booties, and baby blocks that blend into the background of the cake as well as a yellow rubber duck. I also added a chocolate molded teddy bear and a MMF flower "free space". Words are written in buttercream. All of these items were apart of the baby bingo card.
I used miniture cookies for cargo on this little choo-choo and created banners to write the birthday message right on the board for this train loving four year old. He loved it!!...and so did I :-) Iced in buttercream, wheels are MMF.
Large Wilton Oval, 3-D rubber duck pan, chocolate baby duck, cattails, foilage, lilly pad and flowers are made of royal icing. All are sitting atop a piping gel pond; grass border.
Chocolate, Carrot, and spice cakes were covered/decorated in MMF. The babies were molded by hand with MMF. These were time consumig but enjoyable. I wished I would have made the "blocks" a little taller. Thanks to all the CCers that posted their blocks you were a great insperation. I welcome all comments...thanks for looking :-)
I used the Wilton Icing Sculptor to decorate this cake with a bead border. Fresh flowers were used to create a soft elegance. Be sure to put plenty of icing on the cake when using the icing sculptor and hold it at a 45 degree angle.
The words are on edible paper, the book mark is MMF, the rings are royal icing with silver luster dust, border is buttercream and the pages are painted with silver luster dust.
This five-tier cake was designed for a bride that wanted "big" cake with alternating patterns.

Used Wilton's 3-D Rubber Ducky pan. Cut off duck bill and tail. Use cardboard to make ears and hidden pillars for feet. Used plastic dowel rod for trunk. Real peanuts along boarder
