Batman In Gotham City
buildings were done in gumpaste and then airbrushed black. The person who got the cake told me 30 minutes before it was due. I had an hour worth of work still to do. Thank goodness I had most of it done. I did cheat a little and used frosting for the windows to cut down on time. TFL.
This is a cake I did for my sons teachers birthday. It doesn't look as good in picture as it did in real life. It had luster dust on it. Thanks for looking
I teach my daughter's friend to decorate cakes. She likes to do cakes way more than my daughter. Anyway, here is the cake she did last week. She is 12. I think she did a GREAT JOB!
This is a birthday cake I made for my nieces teacher. I airbrushed the cake with green and then hand painted the grass on it and the lady bugs,. I would have redone it if it was for a customer. I did it last minute so there are finger marks in it since I didn't get to chill the cake and the icing was soft. I ran out of frosting so no border.
This is actually foam board covered in royal icing, It has 6 cupcakes in the back. I have more info of the step by step on http://forum.cakecentral.com/cake-decorating-ftopicp-5892674.html#5892674 . If you have questions, it will be easier to ask on that thread. Thanks for looking.
My mom did a class for my friend and her mom and me. The cake is MMF. All of this is edible except the toothpick. I painted the food with airbrush colors. I put the brown on and then wiped it off to get more of a wood look. The table cloth I used the Wilton veiner and impressed it and then just painted on top of it. My mom did help a little with rolling the fondant and doing the rose. She says it's great for a 13 year old. oops. I just realized this is my moms user name. Sorry. TFL
I made this last May when Shrek came out for a friends dauhter. I am wondering if I could put this into the Wilton contest. I was going to redo it as there are alot of imperfections. The bottom cake is a 12x18 cut in half and stacked. The top is a 9x13 cut in half and stacked. The rock on the outside was hand cut and colored to look like marble. The wilton pillars are covered in yellow fonant and then sprayed with the gold and bronze luster dust. The roof is gumpaste done the same say iced to a cookie.
