I made these cupcakes for a co-worker's baby shower. She was having a baby boy so I chose a baby blue color. The cupcakes are yellow butter cakes with a chocolate fudge filling which was a nice surprise in the middle that no one expected :) I used a crusting buttercream frosting.
My friend asked me to do her bridal shower cake and since I had never made, I thought I'd make a practice cake. I ended taking it to work and made a lot of coworkers very happy :o) I also saved a couple slices to bring back home for my hubby. The bottom cake is a white vanilla cake. The top cake is a caramel cake. I filled both cakes with whipped vanilla pudding, very nice and light. I used Wilton's BC frosting for the icing and the decorations. This was the first time I painted the inside of my piping bag.
I made this cake for my husband's birthday. I took the Wilton I course last month and decided to practice what I learned. It turned out ok. Of course, I need a bit more practice on the roses (there's one that has 6 petals instead of 5, shhhh.... :o) ). The cake was pretty tasty. I made a white cake with strawberry mousse filling and buttercream frosting.
