This is the second b-day cake for my dd's 3rd... it's choc mud cake filled w choc custard/whipped cream and frosted/decorated in b/c -the leaves/grass/pond are all b/c ; figurines r marzipan +the animal biscuits are covered in milk choc on back -(wanted to use piping gel for the water but can't get karo syrup in GB) It's a little improvised as my piping bag SPLIT in the middle of piping the leaves and it was a pretty messy job. Love the result though -and so did DD (and everyone else at daycare...)
...so this is the cake disaster for my girl's 3rd birthday! All was going great until I dropped the pallette knife on the cake at 2.30 am ;'o( It's banana cake on the inside with banana custard whipped cream filling and frosted in whipped cream&cream cheese frosting. The butterfly's body is RI and there's a little of Luster Dust snowflake sprinkled on top. DD loved it nonetheless...
Double chocolate sponge covered in chocolate icing and white fondant. First time I covered a cake in fondant -I reckon it didn't turn out too shabby ?! Unfortunately I had nothing but white icing to do the piping around the base and it decided to run -will be using butter cream or similar next time. DH loved it!
