Birthday Horse Cake
My first BC transfer. I had to perform surgery on it too! I have such a week grip so I used a 4 tip to outline and the black outline bled, so I made another leg and amputate the original and attach the new one. This time I used a 2 tip and it worked much better but required more squeezing. The birthday girl didn't even notice and it didn't bother her mom, They were just glad that I did the cake and were very happy with it. But me, I need to practice this technique more.

Frilly Teacher Birthday Cake
Wedge shaped white cake with apple filling iced in BC. Notebook made of fondant with tylose and notebook paper is rice paper. I kicked the teacher out of her classroom for about 10 minutes and had the kids each write something nice or just happy birthday on a piece of rice paper with edible ink. I then "filled" the notebook with these pages. Pages are held together with floral wire. Cake is accented with gum paste flowers.

Wilton Mummy Cake
Wilton Mummy Cake "All Wrapped Up". My 8 y.o. son had a blast helping with this. This was one of the easiest Cakes I've ever done. This really is fun and simple to do, highly recommend doing this with your kids, they will love helping, was lots of fun!!White cake baked in metal mixing bowl, crumb coated with chocolate frosting and wrapped in fondant with candy clay spider, we used black licorice for the legs and rice cereal and marshmellow eyeballs (royal icing for whites & blood vessels and M&Ms for iris)

Cake Fairies
This is my 22nd Annual 2005 San Diego Cake Club's Cakes on Parade Cake Contest entry in the Scuplture category. This cake didn't place in the top 3 but I got soooo many inquiries and postive comments on it. Appearently the crowds and my fellow decorators loved it, just not the judges. This was an engineering feat getting the flower bowl to stay on top of the "batter pour". Decorated in fondant, gumpaste, pastillage, royal icing, rice paper, and lots of pearl, luster dusts, and edible glitter.

Sushi & Noodle Lunch Marzipan
This is my 1st place winning entry for the 22nd San Diego Cake Club's Cakes on Parade Contest 2005 for Forgein Techiques - Marzipan. The maki rolls, prawns, wasabi, ginger, noodles, cookies, plate liner, and chop stick holder are all marzipan. The paper fortunes and the nori (paper around the maki rolls) are edible rice paper. All marizpan is hand molded. Typicaly marizpan are of fruits and vegies (ho-hum), I wanted to do something different, It paid off, I won the division with this.
