I just did this cake for my daughter's 4th Birthday. It was supposed to have a swirled icing pattern but the humidity is awful in right now and my icing wasn't crusting right. So needles to say it wasn't as smooth as usual. All the decorations are chocolate and sugar. Shamu was also made out of cake. My daughter loved it, it was a huge hit.
4 layer 8 inch cake. Top half chocolate bottom half white cake. This was a fun cake to do desite the worst humidity ever.
A practice Hello kitty. I cut her out and made her colors to match the invitation. I wanted to try the dream whip frosting (delicious) and need to practice anyhow. For the final she will sit on a larger sheet cake.
This is a cake I just finsihed today for a little girl whose birthday is close to Valentines day and she's in love with hearts.
This was only my 7th cake after taking Wilton Course 1. My Sister-in-law gave me one weeks notice and specifically asked for that color blue with butterflies worked in. I ended up just doing a shell border with cornelli lace. It was our gift to them and she LOVED it!
