This was made as a wedding gift for my cousin who got married on 11 March 2006. I wasn't very happy with the way it turned out....the cake was a bit dry (I have made this butter cake many times, but, somehow this time it turned out dry!) & the icing was a bit too soft, so, it was difficult to handle (weather was too hot, I think). What a time to have all this happening! Fortunately, the bride & groom were happy with it anyway.

This is a moist chocolate cake covered in chocolate topping made from whipped cream & cooking chocolate. It was a last minute idea for a friend's daughter's birthday the next day.
this is my first attempt at using rolled fondant. used my friend's recipe & think it turned out okay considering this is the first attempt & i am self-taught. but, i'll need to practice more to make my roses & braid finer. the leaves are made from buttercream i had leftover.
This is my 1st attempt at doing the basket weave design (I used Pillsbury's butter cream recipe for the icing). Not that tidy, I know, but I guess for a self-taught hobbyist it's okay...
