Graduation Pool Party
My cousin and I made this cake for her graduation party at a pool. It was my first try at fondant people. Chubby - but they're cute! Vanilla butter cake and double chocolate cake with an oreo filling. The little people are modeled after people in the family - the graduate is in the purple swimsuit in the inner tube and myself resting on the towel. Thanks for looking! This was such a fun cake to make - because it was personal.

Tiffany's Bridal Shower
This is a double layer vanilla butter cake and double chocolate cake. The bride wanted a cake to match her Tiffany's blue theme. The blue is buttercream. The dress is MMF. Everything is edible except for the flowers (I'm not up to that level yet - but hopefully one day)! Thank you so much for looking!

Baby Shower Blocks
This is a two layer sheet cake with both chocolate and yellow cakes. The buttercream is a crusting buttercream - Odessa's I believe. In the center of each "block" I added a tiny baby-related button found at a craft store. I made this for a coworker. The colors are neutral as they did not know whether it was a boy or a girl. Thanks for looking!!

Thank You And Good Luck
I recently got a new job. I made this cake to thank my new employers and say good luck to the lady that I would be replacing. The cake is a chocolate pudding cake with butter cream icing. The leaves and roses are fondant - pink roses for appreciation and yellow roses for friendship. This was my first time making fondant roses. I was not thrilled with the butter cream - after several layers, there are still crumbs! Ah well. Thank you for looking and Happy Spring! (wishful thinking

Halloween Gingerbread House (Front View)
This is my attempt at a Halloween Gingerbread House. Everything is edible (except for the sticks that the heads are on. The grass is colored coconut. Dracula, Frankenstein, and the Ghost are all decorated gingerbread men. The owl on the roof made from spice drops. He was supposed to sit on a Tootsie Roll tree with spice drop leaves, but we had a very warm October here, and it did not stiffen up right (after a month and a half of sitting out to harden!!)

Tropical Birthday Cake
My second beach themed cake. I made this for a coworker's son's birthday. They had a tropical themed birthday party. The sand is made from crushed shortbread cookies and brown sugar. The water is blue piping gel. The hut is made from pretzels and royal icing. The palm trees are also royal icing. Thanks for looking!!

Unc Graduation Cake
I made this cake for a coworker's daughter who graduated from the University of North Carolina. This was my first FBCT. It gave me a lot of troubles, but was worth it in the end. My first transfer was backwards. My second one cracked. The third was definitely the best! Thanks for looking!
