This is the first time I've attempted a loop bow. A MASSIVE thank you for the article here on Cake Central! The birthday girl's mum collected it and said how much her daughter is going to adore it... especially the way the bow is so pretty and shimmery!
This pretty Barbie cake, with little hand-mde daisies to hold the candles, is for my niece's 4th birthday. Happy birthday, Emily!!
Everything on this cake is edible, except the white sticks and the flag. Two light madeira sponges covered with sugarpaste, with an acrylic cake seperator, also covered with sugarpaste. I didn't have a suitable cutter for the horss, so I made my own template and cut them all out by hand.
Bed, ottoman and side table are all vanilla madeira. Everything else is pastilage (royal icing + cmc). I loved making the dwarfs - each one is slightly different, but they're all oh-so-sad to find Snow White asleep on the bed, after eating the poisoned apple!
