Friend's ultrasound pic on the cake along with a cute saying I made up to go with it. Put baby Winnie & Tigger since it matched her babies room.
First attempt at fondant covered whimsical cake... any pointers on how to lawy the fondant down the sides smooth so it doesn't bunch on the bottom would be greatly appreciated. Was at least able to cover most gaping with the stripes luckily. Used pink luster dust over the entire cake and stars.
Customer wanted 2 cakes for son's big 16th bday bash. He plays on his varsity team at his high school (The Monsoon's) and they call him Shrek. The Shrek and football is made from rice krispies... never again! Ugh!
Thanks to cakesbyallison for the inspiration and pointers and help... not nearly as nice as hers, but I was pretty proud of it. My first fondant stacked cake too! Had some issues with the bows due to time restraints and the roads that were traveled to deliver, but I think I covered it up pretty well. Everyone at the shower loved it too!
Edible glitter on cross and heart stripes around with white hearts between each stripe.
Thank you cambo for all your inspiration and help on this one! Used tip 12 for the castle then smoothed with Viva paper towel. Dipped cones for turretts in candy melts then sprinkled with edible glitter... hint... don't freeze them... they crack!
No, the flavor was not jager...lol! I was so stressed out about this cake... but it turned out so well and the bday girl loved it! I am actually really proud of it.

This one has whipped cream frosting which was so much fun to make waves with in the "water". The characters are on all sides of the cake.

Darn summer cake again... frosting melting... pegs on top are actually ding dong cupcakes. Worked out perfectly!
This one matched the invitations.. even the onesie looked just like it. Funny story while I was making this one.... I wanted it to be taller so I could fit the clothes line really good on the sides. So I made 2 separate half sheet cakes instead of splitting one to fill it. So I have the bottom one down on the board, the filling on it and am getting ready to put the top one on.... and my best friend was visiting me and asked how are you going to do this??? look below for the rest of the story....
My frosting was melting on this one soooo bad! Then when I delivered it, it started raining... didn't have an umbrella and it was windy so the top of the box kept coming open... ugh! Darn monsoon season! lol But the 21 year old bday boy loved it. The mom that ordered had a strange request... that I put a marachino cherry in the crotch area... what you can't see from this angle is that I piped the words... BITE ME on the crotch and he had to take that bite first... lol!
I have always wanted to try one of these cakes. So when one of my co-workers was pregnant and we threw her a surprise baby shower, I had to try it! Everyone loved it and I was happy with it.

I love the whole pink and green look and have always wanted to try the quilted look. Not too bad for my first attempt on non fondant icing. This one gets so many comments that I have even used it for my business cards.
