Knitt-Witts
This is a cake made for my local knitting group, the Knitt-witts :) We meet every other Monday, and somebody always makes snacks, this week I volunteered. Our main knitting guru is Susan 'B' hence the little bumble bee. Chocolate cake with custard filling. I still need a lot of work on my writing.

Class 1 Final
Class 1 final cake. The flowers turned out ok, but I had trouble placing them without getting them all squished. Before now, I've always air dried or frozen them, but this time I had to use scissors, I dropped them... a lot. My bow looked better before I dropped a bunch of flowers on it. I think next time I would wait until the flowers are placed to make the bow.

Year Of The Dog
cake made in celebration for the Chinese new year. peanut butter cake with strawberry jam filling. the words are FBCT, I'm not entirely happy the way it came out. I should have cropped them closer to the letters. Also had trouble getting the dog on the cake, I traced the design on waxed paper, and then used a pin to transfer the design to the cake. Half the icing ended up sticking, and the rest was very unclear.

Violet Cake
Brown sugar spice cake with violets I made for my grandmother. her favorite flowers are violets, and that shade is her favorite colour. Loosely inspired by the cake in the back of the Wilton course two book. this was a lot of fun, I liked arranging the leaves and flowers, and my grandmother was impressed. the cake was very crumbly though, I had a lot of trouble keeping crumbs out of the icing.

Kiki Cake
Orange cake, torted with chocolate buttercream filling. This is the cake that has been driving me crazy. I combined the fbct method with the upside-down frosting method. I had a lot of fun making the transfer. And besides a few glitches when I took the parchment off, this has been one of the most fun cakes I've made! Kiki (the poinging ferret) is a character in one of my friend's and mine favorite web comics. www.sluggy.com

Basketweave
A side view: Pay no attention to how skinny the cake is. I had a little trouble with the recipe, and no time/resources to make a second layer. I made several mistakes on the basket weave (my first time) so to cover them up I made cute little flowers. I would have made drop flowers but I seem to have lost my only drop flower tip, it would have been too big anyways. And my star tip was covered in green from the bottom border. I picked up a smaller drop flower tip today when I was out, so next time I decide t

Rosebuds And Roses
I learned a new flower, the 'rose bud' and I quite like the way they look. I need a little work making the stems come together. And making bows that actually look nice. But otherwise I'm happy. The roses turned out nicely too, the concept finally clicked the other day (thanks to the rosebuds actually), now all I need is more practice to perfect them. And I'm so ecstatic about tip 352, my leaves actually look like leaves, and one tip does small and large leaves! Why do we even bother having those other tips
