Jake's Court
For a sports themed baby shower. The baby's bedroom floor is hardwood and painted to look like a basketball court. The baby blocks were made to match the bedding theme. This was made for a co-worker who had no idea it was coming. He was so happy and I got my first thank you card. Now I have a mini collection of them (3)!

Sports Bears
Bears made for a baby shower cake. Made with hours and hours of viewing pictures from CC for guidance and inspiration! I became so attached to them, it was like they were pets! Two perished and never made it on the cake. It was so traumatic! Stripes for baseball were added after this photo!

Shower cake for daddy, who is a coworker of mine. The cake was meant to be for him and another coworkder whose having a girl, but she had the baby early so he gets the cake all to himself! I can't ice smooth worth a darn, and I haven't done a border in forever but I'm very happy with this cake!!! I took inspiration from at least 20 cakes here!!!

2Nd Wedding Cake
I doweled the heck out of this, more than the Wilton's book called for. It still shifted in transit. Grrrrr!!!! You can see where the border pulled away from the cake. From the front you can't tell but it had a very bad lean to the back that had me scared. Luckily, it was a freebie for a co-worker. I was happy with some new techniques I tried.

Tinkerbell Birthday Cake
I had planned to do a color flow image but I was sick and didn't get it done in advance. It took calling 5 bakeries before I found one that would sell me the Tinkerbell topper. None of our local supply stores have extended Saturday hours. As you can see, I'm not great on icing buttercream smooth. I tried the old dip the knife in hot water trick but apparently that just causes it to crack. I was happy with my royal icing flowers.
