Hamburger Picnic
I had so much fun doing this cake! Bottom is a torted 10" and the hamburger is a 6". I put enough batter in my pan so that when it baked it domed really well. Normally I would squish down any bump, so it was fun actually trying for one. Tablecloth is fondant with the checks painted on, the hamburger is buttercream with fondant lettuce and tomato. The bees and ladybug are fondant as well. Thanks to all those who have posted a hamburger cake in the gallery as I took inspiration from you all!

Pink And Black Birthday Present Cake
First attempt at doing a present cake. 8" square, five layers. I didn't let it settle long enough before I covered it with the fondant so it sagged a little. Oh well, live and learn. It was a last minute request for my sisters last minute Bday surprise party. I had another cake due on the same day (pregnant shower cake). It was my first time having 2 cakes due the same day. Everyone loved it, and that's all I wanted!

Tye Die Sweet Sixteen Cake
This was one of 3 for that day. 10" and 8". I took inspiration from mmccoog for the tie dye effect and smashcakes for the fondant loop and spirals. Actually, the birthday girl browsed the galleries and like both and want them combined. I did it the night before and as it sat overnight the back of the top sunk down and split . I almost cried but instead just filled it in with more frosting and colored it. Another cake I did that used the same buttercream batch also sunk so I think it was just too soft.

Sarah W Baby Shower
Baby Shower with Pregnant Belly. Took idea from didi5's wonderful cake-Thanks! It was a big hit at the party... I put one carved 10" against another 10" to come up with a 10"x12/13" sheet for bottom base. I wanted something wide enough to fit the ball pan belly, but then a 10" square wasn't long enough to look right.

Baby Shower Basket
Fondant with basket weave impression roller. The mom has a thing for red shoes, even got married in a pair, so I did red fondant booties. Bear, bottle, pacifier (my husband made :) ), blanket all made out of fondant. Everyone loved the blanket. I used a dot impression roller on the blanket and then cut the edges.

Pink Doll Cake
First doll cake and I had soo much fun! Wanted to use a real barbie, but ran out of time to go and get one. 10" square. Insipiration from cake4you for the cornille lace and ruffle effect, charman for the necklace and from steph for my fondant work, Thanks guys! Buttercream with fondant swag accents/bow and bodice. I would have done the whole think in fondant, but I didn't think 3 year olds would like it as much. Everyone LOVED it!

Legos Cake
8" square chocolate explosion cake. I used the Chocolate Whipped Cream recipe from this site. It was awesome. She said that she wanted a simple cake for only about $25 with some form of legos or power rangers theme. I wasn't sure what to do for power rangers and I thought this seemed fun and simple. Didn't end up looking too much like a "kids" cake, but she gave me rave reviews for how cute it was and then how great it tasted.

Guitar Cake
Carved out of 9x13. Chocolate cake with Strawberry Cream Cake filling. A chocolate fudge frosting on sides and chocolate buttercream on top. Was kind of disappointed because after getting the sides perfect, I got so involved working on the top that I didn't realize that the cake had needed to be put in the fridge to harden up and the sides sagged....made it look bad. By then I was so tired that when the frosting from on top rubbed on the sides I didn't have the energy to fix it.

4 Year Old's Castle Cake
I was sooo excited to do this cake. Inspiration came from this site, of course! Mishaps baking the cakes, they kept falling - almost pulled my hair out. Covered in BC. I used wilton's recipe for the filling, but ran out of butter. I didn't have any flavorings and it was a little too Crisco tasting for me. Tried out the dream whip BC recipe (off this site) and loved it. Towers are paper towel rolls with upside down waffle cones covered lightly in purple sprinkles. Roses are BC made a few days ahead.
