Chocolate cake covered with buttercream and then covered in white fondant. White chocolate sea shells and sea stars were brushed with pearl dust and afixed to cake. Coral was buttercream. Shell topper is actual shell and set theme for cake and reception.

This was made for a quilting shop's 6th anniversary. The name of the shop is the Quilting Bee. There were two sheet cakes just alike for the two day celebration. The Bee topper was mostly gum pate with some fondant. He was made so that he could sit atop the Friday cake and also the Sat. cake. Lots of fun to do. Had a hard time finding a quilting pattern that I could copy with the gum paste. Sheet cakes were yellow with butter cream frosting and fondant letters.
This was for a friend's son's birthday. He was a defensive tackle on the football team at Petersburg High School. I used the school's web site to get photos of the uniforms. Cake was two layer yellow w/ buttercream frosting.
This cake taught me a lot!!. Friend wanted red velvet w/cream cheese frosting. I baked 2 6" and 2 8" cakes. Little tall. I made gum paste roses, blue bells and lots of other flowers. The "MOM" was fondant w/royal icing decorations. Looked great on day 1...Day 2 everything started to flop and run. Had to redo every thing and make butter cream roses. I will not try to decorate cream cheese again. I guess every cake is a learning experience. Friend loved it..

From Debbie Brown's book. Cake was chocolate w/buttercream covered in fondant. Used for a Baby Shower w/pond theme. Sure was a hit. Frog would have been better if sitting on lily pad. Fun to do. First time using bowls to bake.

Yellow cake "box" with fondant lid. Shoe is half & half fondant & gum paste. This one was fun to do. Had some trouble keeping everything together. Receipent stored cake in freezer and shoe fell apart.
Made for 26 yr old girl who loves fishing. Main cake was butter/vinalla combo w/buttercream frosting. Cat tails were gum paste. Trout was pound cake covered in fondant and painted with powered colors & luster dust. Hubby helped by shaping the gills & mouth.

This was for friend's daughter's 23rd birthday. Her favorite food is peanut M&M's. Bought bag of candy to use for pattern. Cake & "M&M" bag were lemon cake w/buttercream on cake and fondant on bag. This one was fun to do. I need help in working w/fondant to keep it from cracking as it drys.

Four layers alternating yellow cake w/vanilla tinted pink, frosted w/buttercream & fondant accents. Figures made half & half fondant and gum paste. Used gell food colors & vodka to paint. They did not dry well at all Please someone help me. Tin Man was luster dust and he dried great, but the Lion & Scarecrow were very sticky.
