There was no other place to put this so we put it here. I got permission from my mentor, as we worked together on getting the technique for this item. This is for a Grand Opening of her friend's shop called "THE BLUE BUTTERFLY"
We made a Chocolate cake with a chocolate transfer Maine Lobster. We built the lobster trap from a ball cake, trimmed, we added Edible Image chain link pattern and fondant strips made to look like wooden slats. airbrushed a little to "age" them. Then we used the Wilton letters to press the name on what would be the "ship's name". Overal cake made to look like it was under the sea, trimed with chocolate shells and edible pearls. One of the claws broke so we attached it with one of the fishes we made.
My friend and I collaborated on this. She had mentioned that she wanted to make this cake for about 4 months now. So, I put the fire under her. I baked, she carved and covered and airbrushed and drew; Then we researched Old School Tattoos since we agreed we wanted a Sailor girl pin up. The cake was taken to MIAMI INK . (It's a show on TV) I hope you like it, she was reluctant to post it, but I thought it was an awesome cake!
