Having A Ball!
My son loves all sports... plays most of them and wanted a birthday that showed that! I made the soccer ball and basketball with flat icing (tastes better) and then the football is out of chocolate fondant. All are cake. The tennis ball and baseball are cake (mini wilton cupcake ball pan) and the rest is made of rice krispies. All covered in fondant. Looks like I got this photo after a few fingers tried out the baseball!

Colorful Zebra
This was a cake that they wanted the colors to match a polka dot invitation but wanted the bottom to be zebra. I was quite nervous.... had not seen a zebra cake with this type of colors no matter how much I looked. Shew! With some advice from a friend and the forum on CC, it turned out after all. Relieved!

Rainbow Cake
My daughter loves rainbows. So for her fourth birthday there was quite a rainbow theme going on (see additional photos). She asked me for a "tall" cake in her type of rainbow. That meant hot, bright colors. So instead of red we had to hot pink. This is covered in MMF over single layers of each size cake. I didn't need enough to feed a wedding so I didn't do two layer cakes on each level. The bottom layer is just a 16" base covered in fondant. The 14" layer is actually rainbow rice krispies covered in icing and fondant. The 12" layer is rainbow cake. 10" had rainbow sprinkles inside. And the 8" and 6" layers were strawberry (her favorite). Not fancy but exactly what she wanted.

Pink French Poodle First Birthday Cake
My niece turned one and this was the cake we made her. It was a French Pink Poodle theme and I was needing to match her plates and such. Fondant accents over BC icing. Smash cake was a square cut out of the remnant tops of the layers from her cake and then icing in between each layer.

Cinderella's Slipper Pillow Cake
This is a cake for a Cinderella and Shoe themed party for a little girl turning 2 years old. It is my first attempt at a "pillow" cake. Also one of my first cakes totally covered in fondant. AND my first attempt at making my own fondant and not using store bought. Shew! Chocolate flavored cake for the pillow. Fondant buttons and trim. Vanilla cake for the lower level. "glass" slipper on top.

Conversation Heart Cupcakes
These were conversation hearts that I made out of cupcakes (cake in silicone heart shaped mold I bought) and covered in melted chocolate. I thought the chocolate would be yummier then fondant for the teachers this year. So they aren't "perfect" coated like fondant would have been. But the chocolate candy coating is yummy with the soft cake inside. I put four each of them in gift boxes.

Tinkerbell
Tinkerbell for a new six year old. Mushroom was made from cooking part of the cake mix in a Pyrex bowl and putting it over a layered 6" cake (carved down in size slightly). Top of mushroom is fondant but base is BC. Round base cake is also BC. Tinkerbell herself is actually a candle. But the rest is fondant or fondant/ gum paste mix.

Circle Celebration
This was a 8" layered cake. Chocolate BC with fondant circles cut out in the receipiants favorite colors which happen to fit in the fall season. The champagne glasses on top were plastic but needed in order to celebrate a new chapter in her life. Just a fun cake inspired by others on CC.

Indiana Jones
This cake was for a six year olds birthday. He wanted Indiana Jones theme. The hate is fondant covered over a two layered oval chocolate cake. I carved out a bit for shape. The whip and map were also fondant. I used brown wilton coloring watered down for the edge of the map and also brushed it over the top. The "dirt" was a mix of graham cracker crumbs and oreo crumbs. I edged the bottom 1" of the cake with the crumbs so the cake is actually over 2" tall but it looks shorter in the photo due to the crumbs. It was a hit by kids and parents alike. yeah!

Ducky First Birthday
First attempt at many things.... first 3-D cake, first star tip icing and first time dipping oreos. Turned out pretty good. Especially loved eating all those "bubbles". The cake was my daughters 1st birthday as she was really into ducks. It was in a large basin and sitting on an upside down bowl which was hidden by all the "bubbles" made of chocolate covered oreos.

Pinky Pie
My daughter loves PInky Pie of My Little Pony. I couldn't find the mold anymore so decided to free cut this one. I printed out a template that was a bit larger then a sheet cake. Used that as my outside outline. Cut and rearranged the pieces. I used two shades of pink icing. The color was more vibrant then appears in this photo. It took a LOT of icing. I did stars for the body and long strands for the mane and tail. She was very happy. And for not making many cakes, I was happy too.
