Jasmine On A Flying Carpet
Jasmine and the carpet are sculpted from a mixture of gumpaste and fondant. The cake was the 3D duck pan with part of the head chopped off. It is covered in buttercream to make it look like she is in the clouds. I made this for the same girl that I sculpted the Dora for. I wonder what I will get to sculpt next year.

Ed The Full Metal Alchemist And Akuma The Street Fighter Cake
This is what happens when you work with geeks. A friend of mine wanted a cake with chocolate buttercream and chocolate covered strawberry cake truffles. He also wanted the characters so I had to figure out how to put them on the cake and this is what I came up with. They loved it.

Lavender Field's Painting
Another one of my buttercream paintings. Inspired by some pictures of lavender fields I saw at the art festival in Ft Worth. I was in the mood to paint and I needed to try out a new caramel cake recipe. It is now my favorite painting. I may have to paint this one with acrylics.

Castle
I made this based of a pic the mother gave me of a porcelain castle. I did the best I could to match. It is all cake with buttercream icing. The bottom is a carved 10" square. The upper part is a 6" square. The top part of the towers were either scrapes or I used my small round pans. The banners and flowers are made from candy clay. I had a terrible time taking the pic. There was a window in the background. I ended up cutting out the corner. Sorry, not my best work.

Baby Shower Cake With Candy Clay Decorations
Covered in buttercream icing. The vine border is supposed to match a sample they gave me for the babies room. I painted the vine using buttercream. The decorations on top are molded out of candy clay. I made a chocolate plaque that says "April's Shower brings May a flower" which I laid in front of the bottom layer. Thanks for looking.

Keep Away
Here is my sculpted cake entry for the Capital Confectioners' Cake show in Austin Texas. My creative DH decided to take the pic outside. Puppy, squirrel, bone, and stump are sculpted cake. It is fondant covered and painted with a paintbrush. The board is covered in fondant and I used a star tip to give it texture. I used a veining tool and a toothpick for the stump texture. I used a toothpick to give the animals fur. I know you are going to ask. It took me a week and I missed a lot of sleep.

Cupid Chocolate Teddy Bear
2nd attempt at a chocolate teddy bear. Not sure if I like the rough look in the photo, I like it better in person. Strawberry chocolate cake truffle (cake balls) covered in chocolate. Wings, arrow, bow, and roses are chocolate. I love how the wings turned out. I didn't use any fondant. This was for my DH so I wanted everything delicious.

Gold Roses 50Th Birthday
I made my first fancy cake for a 50th birthday. It was inspired by one of Colette Peter's cakes. Of course, hers was much better. The roses are gumpaste. The swags and outlines are royal icing. The rest is fondant. I used some pearl dust and gold dust for the jewelry look. Oh, I also made a gold 50 out of gumpaste to stick in the top but the cake wouldn't fit in the box with it on it so no pic.

Autumn Pumpkin Scene
Covered in buttercream icing. The background is done with an airbrush. Everything else was painted with a paintbrush. I had a couple of accidents. I dropped something on the end of the fence and for some reason I couldn't keep my fingers away form the edge of the cake. This was just practice so I didn't worry about it being perfect. I didn't even put a border around it.

Carved Pumpkin
First try with an airbrush. Best birthday present that I have ever bought myself. It was so much fun. The Jack-O-Lantern is four 8 inch round cakes covered in buttercream. Since there were so many pumpkins being uploaded I tried to be a little different. I used a paintbrush to make it look carved.

Red Lace Lingerie
Fondant lingerie was made using a mold. Box top is a cake on a board with fondant rapped all around, even on the bottom. Little disappointed with the sides of the cake. They sagged on the drive there. Next time I will cover the whole cake with one piece of fondant instead of just trying to do the sides. Oh well, there is always something. We learn from our mistakes.

Princess Dora
Dora and boots are made from Gumpaste. The cake is covered in buttercream and I painted it on so I could give it texture. The spires are made of buttercream. The pink block things, whatever they are called, are half mmf and gumpaste. I had extra yellow so the door is gumpaste. The board is covered in green mmf.
