First Time With Real Flowers

First Time With Real Flowers

An at-home wedding reception for family. They wanted a celtic/medieval theme, so I went with a celtic symbol for eternity. Thought I would practice for a 5 layer, real flower between layers gig I have for Dec. Learned alot! #1: it takes a lot of flowers :) #2 need shorter pillars :) or the 5 layer will be 20ft :O)

fair entry; first time making fondant - used Daisy's recipe; used papier mache boxes for forms (stuffed with styrofoam covered in cake foil. Both cheap alternatives :) although will make my own fondant from now on for all cakes ! Also, a little sculpting on the fondant - that was fun and looked cool.
