Lightning Mcqueen Cake
Made this following Nati's Cakes tutorial. Marble cake sculpted and CC with BC and MMF. Was actually fun to make and only took about 3 hours total. Next time I will probably outline the "95" and lightning bolt on the side with black BC but otherwise I think it turned oupretty good! TFL! Tires were formed using rice krispie treats covered with MMF.

3-D Hello Kitty Birthday Cake
Literally threw this together over the weekend while I was visiting my family back home (they live 5 hours away). It was my niece's birhtday and my sister asked me at the last minute if I could do it. I forgot all my tools but it still turned out pretty good. Thanks to Kitagrl for inspiration (hers is actually better). Hello Kitty is sitting on a 9X13 cake. HK was sculpeted out of (2) 8" round cakes and covered with MMF. Head of Hello Kitty was made out of rice krispies and covered with fondant. TFL!

Jo Jo's Circus
Did this for another friend's daughter's birthday. Jo Jo and Goliath are both made out of gumpaste (most first attempt at doing figures on a cake using gumpaste). Cake was yellow, filled with buttercream and covered with MMF. Tent was constructed using rice krispie treats for the dome, supported with dowels at the center and four corners and then covered in MMF. Balloons are gumpaste supported with wire. I also did Jo Jo cupcakes for the kids and regular cupcakes for the parents. TFL!

Soccer Saturday 2007
This is a cake I basically threw together in about 2 hours for our neighborhood Soccer Saturday celebration. Was a little tought decorating the ball but I think it turned out pretty good by hiding the bottom with "grass". Goals are made out of white chocolate I piped over a cardboard form - a little brittle but worked pretty good! TFL!

Rainbow Trout Cake #3
I finally got to make another fish cake - another Rainbow Trout. This time covered in fondant. Fins are gumpaste. A few lessons learned but turned out good for the most part. I got the idea of using chocolate fondant for a wood board looking to decorate the cake board from another cake or two on CC. TFL!

American Idol Cake
Here is my version of an American Idol cake. Its designed for the cake to be the American Idol stage. Cake is marble frosted in buttercream with fondant and gumpaste accents. The figurine is molded out of chocolate (I created a mold from a polly pocket doll). The microphone on the upper stage on the right is made of fondant wrapped rice krispy treats. Thanks for looking!

Thomas & Rail Road Crossing
My son wanted a "gate crossing" cake for his birthday. I brainstormed with my husband and got inspired from a few cakes I seen on CC. Came up with this. Bottom is a double 10" with BC covered with MMF, top layer is double 6" frosted with BC and covered with MMF. Made the "tunnel" with rice krispies covered with MMF. Trees are all gumpaste with MMF stones, BC grass & flowers. I think it turned out great but the pictures don't really capture its true beauty.

Concrete Mixer
This was my fist attempt of using fondant to create a 3-D cake for my husbands coworker (at Oshkosh Truck). I did this in 2005 and think it turned out pretty good. The front cab is frosted and sculpted out of buttercream. The drum was sculpted, frosted in buttercream and covered in fondant. Used Wilton fondant that I was tough to work with. Please don't ask for instructions because I don't have any. Thanks for looking!
