This was my first effort at MMF. I made this cake, the Spider-man buttercream transfer and the Thomas cake all in the same 24 hour period for my kids' combined birthday party. Belle was made using layer cake pans and a bowl with the Belle doll stuck in. The polka dots were cut out using a large tip and then replaced with more tinted MMF cut outs.
Thomas was made using the Wilton Choo-Choo Train pan. I used a pound cake recipe after a collapsing train incident 2 years ago. He's frosted in buttercream.
This was my first attempt at a frozen buttercream transfer for my son's 4th birthday. The cake is a 10" devil's food layer cake with buttercream. It was late when I finished and the border is a little sloppy, but my birthday boy had no complaints. :o)
The theme of the banquet was "Don't Sweat The Small Stuff" and they decorated with exercise equipment.
Front of my roasted pig. I used a stainless steel bowl for the body, a small Pyrex bowl on its side for the head, a trimmed cupcake for the snout and tortilla chips covered in frosting for the ears. The apple is real.
