I used buttercream icing and did the decorations with fondant. This is my first experience using the fondant. I also made my first candy using the candy circles. I used the white ones, colored it purple and pink and make star candies on lollipop sticks. The stars and stripes are of varying sizes and colors and the top is a big bow with the star candies stuck in between the bow loops alternating colored dots around the base and top of the cake. The top also has the stars.
