My first doll cake, the picture doesnt do it justice, although it could have been much better from all the other cakes i see on here!! My neice was thrilled with it though, so it made me happy

this was for my neice's 8th birthday. she asked me for a slumber party themed cake, i wanted to do the girls too but not that confident yet. i wasnt very thrilled with the final result but the girls and her mom loved it........ OHMYGOD i just realized i forgot the "the"!!!!!!! holy moly, if that had been for a client oh my oh my....
please excuse the mess in the background!! boy do you decorators make it look so easy! this cake gave me a lot of trouble, the fondant for the cap was not cooperating (my inexperience is partly to blame i'm sure), and the white chocolate frosting i could not get to smooth for the life of me. it was a huge hit at the party though and it was absolutely delicious!
this was my first try at fondant and as you can see its not perfect, although it might have been better if i had trimmed the sides of the cake, pretty sure i won't make that mistake again.
i stressed through this one but was actually please with the result. thankyou NikkiDoc for the inspiration!
i thought this came out cute although i still have not mastered the art of getting the icing to smooth down flat!!
