Chicago, The Musical Bridal Shower
Chicago themed bridal shower, challenging to incorporate the theme and have it pretty and for a bridal shower. So, prison bars on bottom layer, black ruffled garter with dancing legs on second layer, "C" in Broadway lights for Chicago and also the first letter of the brides new name, and red poppies an edgy but pretty flower.

The cloud is white cotton candy.

Fender Guitar
Groom's cake: Neck is fondant with a wooden dowel imbedded in it so it would not sag. Other than that, it is totally eatable. The components are all fondant and the strings are two sizes of pasta. This was my first attempt at airbrushing a cake. (Did a couple practice pieces before I tackled the actual cake).

Wizard Of Oz Book Cake
This cake, made for my granddaughter, depicts a few of the many Wizard of Oz characters from the series of Oz books. Besides Dorothy, the lion, the scarecrow and the tinman, (from the first book) she also asked for Ozma, Tik-tok, Jack Pumpkinhead, the Saw Horse and the Patchwork Girl. The characters look a bit different from the movie version, they are based on the illustrations in the original books. All decorations are made of fondant and completely edible.

Striped Bass
A groom's cake for a wonderful friend. Totally eatable down to the blue cake board. The lure (including hooks), scales and fins are fondant. The fishing line is marshmallow (melted and stretched). Sand is cookie crumbs, with chocolate shells. Scales are fondant cut out with large piping tips, the each is flattened with the ball fondant tool and placed on one at a time. (all 1537 of them!) It was a fun cake to make and the groom was totally surprised and happy.

75Th Birthday Cake For A Mets Fan
This cake is made on a sheet of plexiglass because I wanted his name on the back of the shirt. The name and number on the cake are actually reversed so it looks correct in the mirror image below. There is a thin sheet of fondant under the cake with the name and number, the top and sides of the cake are buttercream. (Fondant details)

Stripped Bass
This was made for a bride who wanted a stripped bass for her groom's cake. I used a #12 piping tip as a cookie cutter to make the scales out of fondant rolled out very thin. There are approximately 800 scales each attached individually. It took a long time, but the effect was what I wanted.
