This was my first home decorated cake ever. I did it for my son's second birthday I saw the idea in a magazine. the cake is a pound cake baked in a mixing bowl, torted, and filled with lemon curd. Frosted with fluffy white frosting and then marshmallows, snack cakes, and a bit of coconut to finish it off. The penguins are chocolate ganache purchased from one of my favorite chocolatiers.
My first try at fondant. I made it using the easy MMF recipe and it was VERY tasty and fairly easy to work with. The cake is based off of several cakes I saw here. The letters are store bought (my son picked them out) so I matched the other colors to them. The train is also a purchased item. Everything else is homemade and edible.
