Camping_Cake.jpg
Camping cake for my favorite co-worker. It was an idea I had one night when I couldn't sleep (I tend to plan out new cakes when I can't fall asleep! haha). It was also inspired by the camping cakes one here! Iced in BC, "airbrushed" with Wilton's spray frosting stuff- accents are fondant except the rocks, which are candy rocks.

Air Force Girlfriend
My brother recently left for the Air Force and I mailed his girlfriend this bouquet. I planned to write "Air Force Girlfriend" on the heart cookies, but I had thinned my icing too much and I didn't want to risk ruining the cookies. I never thought I would have a use for the airplane shaped cookie that came in my 101 Cookie Cutters!

Star Birthday Cake
Made for a co-worker who is obsessed with stars and always wears black and white. Cut the star bouquet on top and the dangling stars out of fondant two days before to dry. I used Satin Ice for the black- my first time using it. (I am still having mixed feelings about it). The cake turned out better than I expected and she loved it!

Final Cake For Course 3
This is my cake for course 3. It's covered in MMF and the roses are all MMF, too. It's been so hot here lately that I had a hard time with the roses. They were melting in my hands as I put them together, so I didn't end up with as many as I would have liked. I'm still happy with how they turned out, though!

Colorado Avalanche
This was my second attempt at a large logo with color flow and it turned out rather well. I had recently moved to Colorado and someone at my new job requested this cake during the playoffs (it wasn't easy for me to make as a Red Wings fan!!!) Like my last piece, this one also cracked while removing it from the wax paper, but only in one spot, which was much easier to piece together on the cake.

Detroit Red Wings
I made the Wings logo with color flow- it did not work very well! I didn't let the piece sit long enough and the center cracked into a million pieces when I tried to remove it. It is also a rather large piece. But, I put it all back together on the cake and my friends loved it. The rest is just simple buttercreme.
